We all loved Borderlands 2 when it first came out; it's one of the few co-op titles to have received our "Editor's Choice" for a Co-Op Score when we reviewed it back then. Now... well, time has passed. It's not to say that it's "bad," but it definitely feels like a game that is 7 years old. The controls are a little "floaty" compared to many first-person shooters today, and the (for lack of a better term) "running around" doesn't feel great (i.e., there's no mounting or traversal of terrain, there are long stretches of running through empty spaces, etc). Putting aside all of the things that are just a part of a title that old, though, if you're looking to do more looting and shooting in Borderlands, the "Commander Lilith" DLC should tide you over until Borderlands 3.

[E3 2019] - Borderlands 2 Gets Free* DLC

Along with this we saw Borderlands: The Handsome Collection being added to Xbox’s Game Pass service. This means if you are a member of the service you can snag the game and then the new DLC as part of the promotion. If you are on PlayStation Plus you can also grab The Handsome Collection for free as it was one of the featured games this month. On the PC, they're selling a bundle that includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and all DLC for BOTH games for just $6.00, which is a pretty good deal if you don't already own those. Once you’re in the game, you can then play this new piece of the story before then twiddling your thumbs like all of the other Vault Hunters as we wait for Borderlands 3 later this year.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania Are This Month's PS+ Offerings

There are some rumors floating around that Borderlands 2 will be getting new DLC very soon. This new content, supposedly titled "Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary," will act as a kind of story bridge between the end of Borderlands 2 and the upcoming Borderlands 3. So if that turns out to be true, and you're wondering "ok, but where will I get that DLC/how will I play it?" well, then, issue resolved!

Loads Of Co-op Discounts Available On Microsoft's Spring Sale

The fairies took no prisoners this time around, as Microsoft's Spring Sale features a ton of discounted co-op games for you and your buddies to mull over. If you just so happen to be an Xbox Live Gold member, the deals get a teensy bit better, as the discounts are bumped up to account for your brand loyalty (just don't mention that time you played your cousin's PlayStation in 1996). Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Getting New Edition

Dubbed the "Gentleman Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition," you'll get the same collectibles that were in the previous edition, i.e., the 12 lithographs, a steelcase box, all DLC and add-on content that's been released for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and a Claptrap you can control using an app on your phone. The one difference? Claptrap is in some fancy duds this time, looking all fancy.

Another Huge Patch for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection

The patch notes list a lot of little tweaks here and there for both versions of the Handsome Collection, things like performance improvements, glitch fixes, and the like. Nothing terribly exciting as far as gameplay is concerned, but there is a new head and skin combo from Poker Night 2 you can unlock.

Just Got Borderlands: The Handsome Collection? Better Start Downloading the 16GB Patch.

The day one patch for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection adds 8GB of content and fixes for PS4 owners and 16GB of content for Xbox One owners. Most of it has to do with Pre-Sequel's Claptastic Voyage DLC, as it was completed too recently to be included on the disc. Enter digital distribution to save the day! A handful of bug fixes and tweaks are part of the package, too, but, you know, not 16GB worth.
