Be a hero for sick kids

Join Us For Extra Life 2017!

"Hate" is a strong word, and I only use it for things I absolutely despise. One of the things that I hate is seeing kids in the hospital with life threatening illnesses or injuries. I bet you hate that, too. Well, you can help. Co-Optimus is gathering a team of gamers to participate in Extra Life for the sixth straight year, and we invite you to join in on the fundraising! A Children's Miracle Network Hospital of your choice will receive all of the donations you raise on your page, and you get to play video games for an entire day!

Our Weekend In Gaming: Robots Of Yesteryear

Another weekend, another set of co-op plans for you to peruse.  Warframe appears to have snuck into our hearts in the days since we last met, what with its new "open world" and "cyborg ninjas".  Psh.  I remember when we took coffee black, our levels linear, and our ninjas thoroughly human, and we liked it.  I mean, sure, maybe we occasionally wished for broader choices and a couple laser arms, but we knew our place as consumers.  We'd get our sweet exploration/robot karate games when the developers were good and ready.

Content updates for DDO, Star Trek Online, and RIFT

MMO Co-Opportunities Volume LXXXI: Air, Mist, and Fire

Though the weather may indicate otherwise, we’re thick in the middle of fall. Fall: that mystical time of year famous for pumpkin-spiced food, horror flicks, and MMO content patches and expansions. For this issue of MMO Co-Opportunities, we’ll be looking at content expansions that either just launched on their corresponding live servers...

The new Tiger Woods fighting game is a bit too button-mashy for my tastes.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Combat Golf

Well, it's the gosh darn weekend already.  How about that?  The Co-Opticrew has mostly escaped Bungie's grasp for the time being, but we're all still in the throes of Sequel Town.  We're gonna have to churn through our follow-ups of choice, though, as release season is already getting hot and heavy.  Don't be surprised if, one month from now, our weekend plans are replaced by desperate gurgles as we attempt to not drown in a sea of new video games.

This weekend brought to you by the number, "2".

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Sequel

You know what they say - no matter what form of media, sequels are empirically the best and most beloved entry of any given franchise.  At least, that's what our upcoming weekend plans would seem to suggest, as they're dominated by all kinds of sequels.  On a different day, I would've probably lodged some sort of weak-hearted complaint about the death of originality in media, but as it turns out, all of these sequels seem to be quite good.  Plus, I'm too busy gearing my galactic warlock out to feel aggrieved by much of anything.

Well, this is awkward.

Our (Past) Weekend In Gaming: The Destiny Of The Divine

Well, wouldn't you know it.  I straight up forgot to post our regularly scheduled Weekend in Gaming article.  To be honest with you all, I thought everything had been typed up and set to go, but apparently the insanity of the workweek took my mind into an alternate dimension.  To those of you who spent the weekend in an aimless shuffle, realities thrown awry by not knowing our gaming plans, I apologize.

They're back, and they brought an actual coherent story.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Return Of The Moon Wizards

Listen, you guys don't need me to tell you what most of the Co-Opticrew will be up to this particular weekend.  Bungie's latest co-op loot shooter has arrived in the form of Destiny 2, so you know we'll be playing it until our eyes bleed.  I will say, though, that I honestly wasn't expecting it to just barely edge out a loot shooter that's half a decade old.  I guess that just goes to show that you can never truly escape the siren call of better loot.
