Kingsroad is Out Now for iPadNick Puleo

The iOS version is once again free to play. There's also cross platform play, so you can co-op with friends on either PC or iPAD. Your character is saved to the Rumble servers, meaning you can play the same character on either platform as well. In fact, other than the interface changes, the two games are completely identical.

It was a little over a month ago I gave some impressions of KingsRoad - a free to play game from Rumble Entertainment that's playable through Facebook or Rumble's own online service. The browser based game is an action-rpg in the same vane as Diablo or Torchlight but is designed to be played in shorter sessions. Since last month, the team has added a new class, the Wizard, and made several enhancements to the game world. Today the game is available for anyone to try - though it's still technically in beta - and the team is treating it as a KingsRoad's coming out party.

For hardcore gamers, Free To Play, has an almost negative stigma associated with it.  Combine that with the word "Facebook" and you're looking at the double whammy of disgust.  It's not hard to see why, with titles like Farmville begging for social sharing and clicks and other titles cheapening the experience by asking you to pay for gratification.  But there are some gems out there that are bucking the trend, the latest is a game from Rumble called KingsRoad - a hack and slash RPG that's playable via Facebook or Rumble's website.
