Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 Both Delisted From Digital Platforms

Licensing within the realm of video games is often a complicated and costly thing, particularly for something as massive as Marvel. It's no surprise that without any new or in-development projects in the works that would make use of such a thing, Activision would choose to let the license lapse rather than re-up, particularly if neither of the Ultimate Alliance games were pulling in a lot of money for the publisher.

Both Marvel Ultimate Alliance Titles May Be Coming to PS4 and Xbox One

While the ratings do point to a potential release of the games on the consoles, they do not indicate how. It's quite possible that on the Xbox One, all three would be part of the Backwards Compatibility program, which just recently saw the addition of Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead. PlayStation 4 has its PlayStation Now program that lets you play select Playstation 3 titles on either a per-game basis or via a regular subscription, and it has also started releasing certain Playstation 2 games for direct purchase. Then again, and this is my hope, they could be remakes with some visual enhancements. I remember playing through a significant portion of both Ultimate Alliance games with my brother-in-law and having a great time, so I would love to see those make a return.

PSA - Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC Gone After December

It was July that we saw the return of the DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 after it has mysteriously disappeared earlier in the year. European PSN Users Finally Get Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC - Again, Temporarily

After one of the most bizarre and unfortunate DLC disasters we've ever seen, the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC is finally available for European PSN users. Now, everyone go out and get this DLC featuring Juggernaut, Psyloche, Magneto, Carnage, Black Panther and Cable before they disappear. At the end of the year, you will no longer have access to any of this DLC.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Makes A Temporary Comeback

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has faced a lot of issues since its release. Fans annoyed with exclusive content, glitches that compromised that exclusive content, then the DLC content and all of the data was pulled from Xbox LIVE and PSN. Neither system even had Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 listed as a game anymore, but now that has changed until the end of 2010.

Yeah, yeah, I'm like a broken record. My last entry for this column was for the same game, but what can you do? I love super heroes, I love co-op, and I usually game with my 8 year old son, so Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is getting lots of playtime in our house. We are nearly at the end of our second replay, and I've been focusing on unlocking alternate costumes for many different characters. The costumes are like the characters themselves: some are very nice, but some totally suck. I'll let you know which are which.

Great Amazon Deals: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Modern Warfare 2

Two Amazon sales today will be of particular interest to co-op fans. The XBox 360 version of online juggernaut Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is discounted, down to $39.96. If you prefer comic book style Juggernauts, then Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is a good bet (though Juggy is only available as DLC). The game was recently discounted down to $40, but today's sale allows you to pick up the Wii, 360, or PS3 versions for a mere $19.99. This Week in Co-Op: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

This past week has been a very busy one for my family, but over the weekend we managed to squeeze in some Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. For our first play through, we played as Iron Man's side. For the achievement's sake, and to experience the other side of the war, we decided to continue the game on a tougher difficulty, rather than loading our pre-choice save game.

After a nice looking DLC pack was released for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, it would appear that all of the DLC on both Xbox LIVE, and the Playstation Network has completely disappeared.
