Resident Evil 5 and 6 Remakes Headed to Consoles

The titles will actually be released in reverse order. So, Resident Evil 6 will be up first, arriving later this month on March 29. Resident Evil 5 will follow sometime this summer, and Resident Evil 4 will make its return this fall. Both RE 5 and RE 6 featured a full co-op campaign for up to two players, and 6 also includes the arcade-like "Mercenary Mode." No co-op for RE 4, but it's a great game none-the-less.

The upside to the sale is the prices have been slashed between 50 and 75% off and you don't need PS Plus to get the deals. The downside is that only a few of them have co-op, such as Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5. But hey, cheap is cheap, right? The sale runs from now through February 10th.

'Capcom Essentials' Bundle Offers Five Games For the Price of One

Set to release this October 8th, the bundle will include a total of five of their (arguably) most popular IP’s in their current library: Resident Evil 6, Dead Rising 2, Devil May Cry 4, Super Street Fighter IV, and Megaman 10. Out of the entire bundle, however, the only two contain co-op modes are RE6 and DR2. Still, it’s quite the number of games for the price of a newly released title, $59.99. Not only do the games come in one, nice disc case (Megaman 10 is a downloadable title on PSN and XBLA), but a Capcom travel back will also be included with the bundle. The bundle will come in both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions as well. Keep in mind that these games will not include any DLC’s or additional content with them, and must be purchases separately.

There is an added bonus for those who decide to buy Resident Evil 6 for PC. One of the modes in Resident Evil 6, Mercenaries Mode, is receiving a little star treatment from Left 4 Dead. In a special mode within Resident Evil 6 on PC, you can play as the cast of Left 4 Dead as playable characters. The characters you will be able to use are Coach, Nick, Ellis, and Rochelle. In addition to these extra players, zombie hordes will be increased to match the intensity and ferocity of those you would normally find in Left 4 Dead. Finally, some new undead faces will appear in the special crossup, notably the Witch and the Mini-Tank of Left 4 Dead fame.

Resident Evil fans, rejoice! Resident Evil 6 released for Xbox 360 and PS3 back on the 2'nd of October last year. While some complained about the changes to the formula, others thought it was a great survival horror/action title. It was certainly a fun romp for co-op play. The Xbox Live Ultimate Game Sale continues today with 50%-75% discounts on several Resident Evil games. Half of them feature co-op, oh, happy day! Last year's release of Resident Evil 6 (2-player local or online co-op) is discounted down to $20, as well as Resident Evil 5 (2-player local or online co-op) down to $10 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (4-player online co-op) down to $20.
