With a title like Burn Zombie Burn a game immediately has a lot of potential. This PlayStation Network exclusive pits co-op players against hordes of angry zombies with only one goal in mind - burn em all. We'll find out if you should crack open the flamethrower for this one, or if it's only luke warm.

Burn Zombie Burn Videos have the Undead Grabbing for Fire ExtinguishersMarch 17th, 2009 at 11:34 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Burn Zombie Burn developer DoubleSix has launched a brand new YouTube channel to promote their upcoming PSN exclusive twin-stick shooter.

There's a whole bunch of videos showing off the single player modes of the game, including an incredibly fun looking one where you lure flaming zombies into an exploding skull.  Happens everyday to me.

The game does support 2 player split-screen co-op play for certain modes, and there's a video showing off one called Co-Op Defense.  In it, players are tasked with defending Bruce's girlfriend Daisy from the onslaught of zombies.  Setting the zombies on fire not only helps your score, but drops health packs to keep Daisy alive longer.  Scoring plays a big role in the game, and the co-op modes use a combined score for maximum teamwork.

Burn Zombie Burn, Burning Zombies March 26th on PSNMarch 09th, 2009 at 9:10 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Burn Zombie Burn is a two player co-op game that's set to come out on the PlayStation Network on March 26th.  Game play is like a traditional dual analog shooter, and players are tasked with setting zombies on fire.  But a flaming zombie is an angry zombie, so you'll find them much faster and more difficult - but worth more points.

To celebrate the launch of the game, the DoubleSix development team has launched a dedicate YouTube channel.  Once the game launches Sony plans on holding trophy and score competitions in which players can win various burning zombie memorbilia like signed artwork and actual burned zombie parts.  Ok, I made the burned zombie part..uh...part up.  But that'd be cool right?

Burn Zombie Burn will Burn Zombies on PSN This YearJanuary 27th, 2009 at 1:36 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

I'm a big fan of top down shooters like Geometry Wars 2.  I'm also a big fan of zombie games like Left 4 Dead.  So when you combine the two and throw in a gratutious amount of flame...well I may just be in love.

Burn Zombie Burn is a upcoming game from independant developer doublesix games.  The premise is simple, the more zombies you burn the higher your multiplier and score.  Of course, burning a zombie makes them mad (I know I'd be too) - so that also makes them faster and more dangerous.

It's an interesting concept and one that lends itself well to the game's 2 player co-op mode.  I for one can not wait to create a pyrotechnic display of flaming undead with my friends.  Some videos of the insanity are posted just ahead.
