G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Co-Op ReviewAugust 31st, 2009 at 11:57 PM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a run and gun shooter, similar to old school classics and full of nostalgia.  Want to know how the game rates, and hear about the co-op?  After all, knowing is half the battle, right?

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and TMNT: Turtles in Time Reshelled This WeekAugust 04th, 2009 at 10:39 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We've got two co-op releases this week, both based on classic 1980's franchises.

First up is G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PlayStation 2.  The game features a two player local co-op mode throughout the game's campaign.  It's loosely based on the movie of the same name which also comes out in theaters this Friday.

Also this week is the 3D remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time.  The game features local and online four player co-op through the classic arcade experience.   Now it's a bit more affordable thanks to a pre-release price drop.

G.I. Joe Screenshots Help You Know the BattleJuly 10th, 2009 at 8:23 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Every summer, movie studios pour millions of dollars into advertising budgets to promote theatrical releases of their biggest films.  These films are called Summer Blockbusters.  Just about every year we see tie-in games that closely follow the movie's story or borrow liberally from the movie's universe.  For the most part these tie-in titles are low budget, mediocre games that rarely excel to greatness.

Now you know when shopping for video games this summer, and knowing is half the battle.

Oh, and we have some screenshots from the 2 player local co-op title G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.  Hey, look at that, there's a movie of the same name.

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra E3 ImpressionsJune 06th, 2009 at 3:48 PM by Katrina "ShadokatRegn" Pawlowski

With summer blockbuster movies, for better or worse, come the movie tie-in games. In the case of G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, we're happy to see Co-op, but very curious to know exactly how the game itself works. Kotaku got the chance to play the game at E3 using co-op, and we have their impression to share.

G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra E3 ScreenshotsJune 01st, 2009 at 11:10 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

EA has released a set of new screenshots for the upcoming two player co-op G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

There's not much to say about the local only co-op game, the screenshots look a little on the weak side for a next-gen game.  Perhaps it's better in motion?  We won't get our hopes up considering it's a movie licensed game, but sometimes there are gems in the rough.  In this case the gems would be wearing ninja outfits.

Yo! G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra Screens, Previews and VideosApril 15th, 2009 at 8:38 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

This summer is filled with plenty of blockbuster movies based on popular TV Franchises.  Star Trek, Transformers 2, and GI Joe all will adorn the silver screen.  Of course with any great blockbuster comes the video game tie in, and G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra is no exception.

The Electronic Arts published game will be available on just about every platform, and put players in the Joe universe immediately following the movie.  It promises to recreate many of the greatest moments from the film, cartoon and toy line.  With sixteen characters are your disposal, your favorite is sure to be there.  So far Snake Eyes, Duke, Heavy Duty, Ripcord, Scarlett, Shipwreck and Gung Ho have all been announced.  At anytime during the game a second player can join in and choose one of these characters for some couch co-op play.

New GI Joe ScreenshotsMarch 12th, 2009 at 6:07 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

There's still not much information in the way of the upcoming GI Joe games from EA.  We know they'll have some local co-op action, so you and a friend can argue exactly who gets to be Snake Eyes.  Other than that, we know it's based on the upcoming live action movie of the same name.

Today we get the first screenshots from the Xbox 360 version of the game.  The screens actually show a bit of the co-op aspect, but really don't give us much in the idea of gameplay.  We really wish we knew...because knowing is half the battle.

Even Co-Op Might Not Save the G.I. Joe GameFebruary 16th, 2009 at 10:18 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

There's a live action G.I. Joe movie coming out this summer, one that's only about 20 years overdue.  With any summer blockbuster comes the inevitible video game tie-in, and the Joe movie is no exception.  As we previously reported, the game is being developed by EA, and will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PS2, etc etc.  You know, the usual platform bombardment.

While we've yet to see anything official of the game in terms of screenshots or gameplay video, Joystiq managed to sneak some ninjas deep into EA HQ to get some hands on time with the title.  If the trailer for the movie is any indictation, you'll be playing as a black latex clad Joe member through this arcade inspired title.

Of course it wouldn't be news to us if it didn't have co-op, and no member of Joe needs to go in alone.
