Heidi Klum looking for a Co-Op Partner in Guitar Hero: World TourNovember 05th, 2008 at 7:59 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

The first Guitar Hero: World Tour commercial (seen here) featured the game's new 4 player co-op feature with such stars as Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, Tony Hawk and A-Rod.  While I'm not one for men in PJs, the commercial does an admirable job of catching the fun to be had in cooperative rhythm game festivities.

Victoria's Secret model Heidi Klum also has a Guitar Hero commercial, though the only pairs of players in this aren't actually playing the game.  Heidi jams across the living room in nothing but her bra and panties, jamming away to some good ol' rock and roll.  Ms. Klum, if you need someone for drums, I'll be more than happy to help out.

Read on for the video, warning though, it's semi-NSFW.

Guitar Hero: On Tour hits stores this week, and we've got your co-op review here at Co-Optimus.  How's the Guitar Grip?  What about the song choices?  Is rocking out with a buddy in co-op mode as awesome as on the home versions of Guitar Hero?  Read on to find out.

Guitar Hero Edition DS: Now You're Pickin' with Power!June 12th, 2008 at 10:17 AM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

Ahh, Nintendo.  You and your special edition, funky colored game systems.  They seem like such a waste, and yet, I still bought a translucent green Nintendo 64 back in the day.  It's even worse with the DS Lite.  In my family alone, we have black, black/blue, and black/red DS Lites.  In fact, I just sold my white DS to get the black one a month ago.  And now, you go and announce a Silver and Black DS, with the Guitar Hero logo on it!  What's a fanboy supposed to do?  Ebay the new black DS, and use the funds to get the super cool silver one, with FLAMES on it?  After all, I'm buying the Guitar Hero: On Tour game anyway.  If I'm going to be rocking out in public, shredding on lead guitar while my wingman plays bass, I gotta do it in style, right?  It's hard to resist, given the combination of my obsession with rhythm game peripherals and the allure of a special edition DS Lite.  I may need to go visit my psychiatrist again...

15 Guitar Hero: On Tour Songs RevealedApril 30th, 2008 at 10:49 PM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

Part of the Guitar Hero: On Tour track list has been revealed over at Pocket Gamer.  Given the different demographic that the DS serves, it should come as no surprise that GH:On Tour features several songs that are more "pop" than metal.  However, there's still a lot of old school GH to be had on the go in this list.  Check out the list and our commentary after the jump.

Guitar Hero: On Tour Price Definitely Not 'Free Bird'March 31st, 2008 at 8:38 PM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

New details about the upcoming portable rocker Guitar Hero: On Tour have been revealed at the game's official website.  The good news?  The Guitar Grip peripheral will work with the new hotness DS Lite as well as the old and busted DS Phat.  So, gamers with bigger fingers who might prefer the original DS to its slimmer successor can rest easy knowing they too can look like an idiot while playing the game.  The bad news?  The game alone is up for preorder for the low, low price of $49.99.  So, at minimum, publicly rocking out with a buddy in the game's co-op mode will cost a Ben Franklin... in addition to your dignity.

Guitar Hero: On Tour - First VideoMarch 19th, 2008 at 2:29 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

The British Gaming Blog has the first video of Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS.   It's hard to describe exactly how the game is played, but the Guitar Accessory plugs into the GBA Slot on the bottom of the system and the system is then held sideways.  It'll be interesting to see how well this works, obviously from the hokey video the folks seem to be having a good enough time.

Guitar Hero: On Tour will have local wi-fi co-op, but not much else about it can be confirmed just yet.

Full Video embedded after the break.
