Coming Soon: Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure ContinuesJune 01st, 2009 at 11:28 AM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

You may recall a story which we ran earlier this year, in which we predicted a Lego game based on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  Well, call us Nostradamus, because we are getting exactly that later this year, and it's coming to pretty much every system.

The sequel will be called Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues.  The new content in the game will focus on last year's Indy film.  In case you are thinking that might not be enough content for a complete game, there's more.  For the first time, a level editor will be included.  Building entire levels brick by brick, just like when you were a kid, should be fun.  It remains to be seen whether a level editor alone will be the shot in the arm the LEGO franchise needs.  We're holding out hope for four players, and bring back online co-op please!

Lego Indiana Jones Demo ReleasedJune 27th, 2008 at 12:55 PM by Blake "broodax" Corner

Well, it's been released and reviewed, and now there is a demo out. That's right, today, Major Nelson is reporting that a demo for Lego Indiana Jones has been released on Xbox Live. So, if you are on the fence about the game (which chronicles the first three movies), check out the demo and find out for yourself.

LEGO Indiana Jones Review RoundupJune 11th, 2008 at 9:39 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

LEGO Indiana Jones hit the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, DS, PS2, and PC last week.  Overall the reviews have been positive, and even though the game supports local 2-player co-op, there is still some dissapointment as to the lack of 4-player co-op, and more specifically the lack of online co-op all together.

Gamepro - 4/5

LEGO Indiana Jones isn't without its flaws-the lack of online co-op is almost criminal...but...incredibly charming personality, challenging and creative puzzles, tons of collectibles and secret areas, great music.

Team XBox - 8.5

Another nice feature—and great for those wanting to help a kid and share the experience—is the addition of drop-in/drop-out co-op. At any time, a second player can take over the partner character to help with puzzle solving and the like.

1UP - B

It's easy to dismiss as kids' fare, but Lego Indiana Jones is a light, enjoyable action game, especially if you've got a willing friend for co-op play.

Evil Avatar - 4/5

I’m not sure what stopped Traveller’s Tales from doing online co-op like the last LEGO StarWars game had nor do I understand why there isn’t 4-player co-op... I think this will keep some people from picking up this game that play with friends online

Co-Op Release Alert: Lego Indiana JonesJune 02nd, 2008 at 8:14 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Every platform this week is going to get some co-op lovin, thanks to the whip wielding LEGO version of Harrison Ford.  LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Trilogy hits store shelves on Wednesday, though rumor has it you can find it as early as today.

The game hits Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC and features 2 Player Co-Op with Drop-in/Drop-out support and online play and local play.   And don't forget how to spell Jehovah - it starts with an I!

Official Lego Indy site: PC Demo soon?May 02nd, 2008 at 9:30 AM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

Like a huge stone ball in a certain deserted temple, the highly anticipated release of the new Indiana Jones film is fast approaching.  The game tie in, based on the classic Indy movies, has launched a spiffy new websiteLego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures will join the popular Lego series of games this summer.  The website has the expected features like trailers and screenshots, but also includes a neat little "treasure hunt" that unlocks certain content.  Best of all, the site links to a demo for the PC version of the game.  Unfortunately, the download for the demo is listed as "coming soon" at this time.  With the nostalgic appeal of the Indy series, joined with the great co-op fun of the Lego series, we can hardly wait to play the game.  Lego Indy launches on June 3, a full week and a half after the movie premieres.  Hopefully, the demo will be released soon to tide us over in the meantime.

LEGOs, It Had To Be LEGOsMarch 19th, 2008 at 9:36 PM by Blake "broodax" Corner

As anyone with a pulse will know, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is coming out in 2008, fulfilling the dreams of millions. Not only do we have LEGO Star Wars and the promise of LEGO Batman, but Lucasarts (and Traveller's Tales) are apparently completing the gaming equivalent of Oprah's Favorite Things by giving gamers Indiana Jones in LEGO format. PALGN Xbox 360 has details from the next game in the LEGO (+ classic movie) series. The LEGO Star Wars games have always been fun 2 player co-op games, and LEGO Indiana Jones appears to be no different.

The game had some rather floaty controls that would cause us to do silly things at times, but for the most part, they actually suited this style of play. It's clear that the game is almost specifically designed for co-op play, and you'll get the most out of it by playing through with a buddy. There were countless times during our short play session that we were able to help each other out in different ways. However, the single player seems to be structured in a way that the 'hot-swapping' between characters would be too cumbersome or require too much backtracking. Still, we think that co-op will end up being more enjoyable.

The PALGN crew came away impressed, and from what they have indicated, LEGO Indiana Jones appears to be following in the footsteps of previous LEGO games. With this and the new Indiana Jones movie, Indy fans (like myself) have a lot to look forward to.

LEGO Indy Co-Op Correction - 2 Players OnlyFebruary 21st, 2008 at 9:43 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We always like to post the good news as it relates to co-op gaming,  but we wouldn't be responsible if we didn't report that bad as well.   A few days ago we reported that the upcoming LEGO Indiana Jones title would feature 4-player co-op support.   Alas, it seems MTV had jumped the gun.

But on Wednesday I found out that the actual design plans for the game do not call for four-player co-op. That feature is not planned for the game.

A producer for the game has confirmed that. “‘LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures’ will feature the user friendly drop-in/drop-out two-player cooperative feature that players have come to know and love,” the game’s producer, Shawn Storc, said to me in an e-mail provided by LucasArts public relations. “However, we are not expanding this feature to a higher player count. I certainly do apologize for any confusion that has arisen; we must have been in a LEGO induced haze at the Collector’s Party.”

Dissapointing news indeed.  In fact, if you look at the internet's response to the news, you can see people are CRAVING these kind of features in their games.  Hopefully developers can see this and start adding the what people want.

Lego Indiana Jones to Feature 4 Player Co-OpFebruary 18th, 2008 at 11:03 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Anyone that's been a fan of the Lego Star Wars titles knows that they are solid games for cooperative play.  And if you've been following stuff in Lego-land you know there's a new Lego game coming out based on the Indiana Jones movies.   It looks like the folks over at Lucas Arts have decided to keep the focus on co-op play, and this time they've upped the ante by including a 4 player co-op mode.

There's no details as of yet on whether the co-op modes will be available online, but we'll definitely keep you informed!
