PixelJunk Eden to Get Patch, ExpansionJanuary 14th, 2009 at 10:22 AM by Jason "OrigamiPanther" Love

A bit of good news for everyone who liked the idea of PixelJunk Eden, but found the controls and camera a bit unnerving.

The team at Q are still keeping the details of the expansion close to their chests, but Cuthbert did reveal what's in store for this week's patch. Aside from a fix for the game's multiplayer camera, most of the changes are geared toward making the game more accessible for casual gamers that can't quite get the knack of Eden's precision platforming... "I simply want as many people as possible to experience [PixelJunk Eden] in full," Cuthbert said of the patch, which should help struggling players do just that.

A patch that improves the co-op experience and makes the game more accessible for everyone? So… why aren’t more developers taking this approach?

Gaming Deal: Buy Pixel Junk Eden, Get Monsters Encore Expansion FreeOctober 12th, 2008 at 10:58 PM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

It's an expensive time of the year, for the co-op gamer.  Some premiere titles have just been or will shortly be released.  So, money can be tight, and any good deals are worth looking into.  One such good deal has been posted over at PS3News

PSN users who purchase PixelJunk's Eden between now and October 16 can download the expansion for another PixelJunk title, Monsters, for free.  So, for $10, you get a $16 value.  That's not too shabby, at all,  especially if you already have Pixel Junk Monsters and were looking to get the expansion, Monsters Encore.

PixelJunk Eden is a bit hard to classify, but you can check out our review of it here.  It seems like one of those more abstract titles, with some truly hypnotic art design.  PixelJunk Monsters is a bit easier to describe: it's a Tower Defense game.  It is also ranked fairly well by our users, with 4.0 stars.  I know I'll be downloading both games to see if this deal is worthy of my increasingly scarce gaming dollars.

PixelJunk Eden Co-Op ReviewSeptember 21st, 2008 at 8:14 AM by Jason "OrigamiPanther" Love

The "PixelJunk" series of titles that have come out on the PlayStation Network have all been truly unique titles.  From a slot car racer, to a different take on desktop tower defense, both Racers and Monsters were solid games; the latter even supporting co-op play.

The latest iteration in their series, named PixelJunk Eden, is a bit harder to describe.  It's sort of this life garden sim, meets Worms ninja rope game.  The best part of course is the ability to play with two of your buddies in 3 player co-op.  We give you the low down on the co-op mode, and whether or not it's a worthwhile addition to your collection.
