Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is available for the same price of $4.99 and features both offline and online 3 player co-op modes.   Our official review of this is also available here.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 Co-Op ReviewJune 23rd, 2008 at 8:54 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We have our review of Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 for the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.  What's more?  We're giving away two copies of the game for the XBLA - SFII: HD Remix beta included!

Co-Op Release Alert: Wolf of the BattlefieldJune 10th, 2008 at 9:02 AM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

In a mere 24 hours, give or take, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will be released on Xbox Live Arcade (the Playstation Network version came out last week).  We previewed the game last week here at Co-Optimus.  Team up with up to three other friends, either locally or online, to blow stuff up and save the world from the bad guys.  It looks to be a fun little game, if you are into that sort of thing (which we know you are, being a reader of this site, after all).

Piggybacked onto the XBLA purchase of the game is an interesting bonus.  Players will be able to help test the highly anticipated Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix later this month.  It's not co-op, but it might make you take the plunge and get the game, so it deserves mentioning.  Likely, many will get Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 for the beta of SSS2THDR (whew!), but the co-op shooter looks to be worthwhile on its own.  A bit like Crackdown and the Halo 3 beta, perhaps?

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 PreviewedJune 04th, 2008 at 11:04 PM by Blake "broodax" Corner

The game in the running for "most complex game title ever," Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, has created a bit of interest at Co-Optimus. So, it's not surprising that the game has sparked interest at other sites as well. Worthplaying has a nice preview about the game, focusing on the nostalgia factor, as well as the relatively simple gameplay.

The basic gameplay in Commando 3 is really quite simple. You and up to two friends take control of the Wolf force, an elite squadron of '80s movie homage super commandos, as they blow the living daylights out of everything in their path in an attempt to make the world safe once again. The Wolves advance upward through a stage packed to the brim with enemies, kicking ass and taking names.

Kotaku hands-on info after the break and release announcement.

More Commando 3 Details RevealedMarch 13th, 2008 at 4:16 PM by Blake "broodax" Corner

Capcom has released more information about the soon-to-be-released arcade shooter Commando 3. The game's is now called "Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3" and will appear on both Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network in Spring 08.  Some may know about the gamefrom the announcement that the purchase of the game would come a beta for Street Fighter II HD (Xbox Live users only). However, what co-op gamers should know is that the game will sport a rather robust co-op experience. The game features three player co-op, both online and locally on the same Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.

The game also has another interesting co-op feature: difficulty levels that change based on the number of players. This is a promising feature, since sometimes in games, the addition of another player messes with the difficulty level and prevents the game from being a real challenge. The game will also feature controllable vehicles and gobs of weapons for you and two friends to blow up the enemy Zalestad soldiers.
