Shadowgrounds has co-operative multiplayer on the same computer for 2-4 players. Having more than one player in the game requires the use of gamepads. Other players will help Wesley Tyler in his alien-battling.

DOOM (1993)

Up to four players can experience the campaign together.

Trine: Enchanted Edition

The players take control of one of the three characters and solve the puzzle together.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed

Two players can work their way through the campaign together. The 2nd player is just a color-swapped version of the main character. The game features dynamic split-screen. As long as both characters are close enough it is a shared screen.

A Virus Named TOM

The game is an action-puzzler. The puzzle comes from rearrange circuits to spread the virus. The action comes from dodging anti-virus drones while doing it. It’s one of the few puzzle games out there where you can play co-operatively (with up to 3 friends).

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken

Select a pair from the dirty half-dozen Budgie commando characters and set out on a mission to save the daughter of a general in 10 co-op missions.

Trine 2: Complete Story

The Cave

Two to three local co-op players work together to solve puzzles in this adventure platformer.

Resident Evil 5

The entire Resident Evil 5 campaign supports two player, drop-in/drop-out co-op. Co-op is also supported in the story DLC, "Lost in Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape." Additionally, two player online co-op is supported in the "Mercenaries United" mode.

FORCED

FORCED is centered on a number of unique and interesting challenges geared towards the number of players present. Additionally, a cooperative combat system is implemented where players can place ‘marks’ on enemies with special attacks, and thus increase the potency of other players' attacks against the foes.

TowerFall Ascension

"Quest Mode" allows up to two players to fight NPC's instead of one another. Basically, this is a standard "horde mode" featured in many modern games. There is friendly fire that can pose a bit of difficulty if players don't communicate well. Different strategies involving ammunition and loot sharing make the game much deeper than you'd expect.

The "Dark World" expansion introduces the all-new Dark World Mode - a co-op campaign for 1-4 players. Battle your way to hideous boss monsters, and face the brutal challenge of the added Legendary difficulty mode. Child of Light

Child of Light is a side-scroller and RPG all rolled into one. Up to two players control Aurora and Igniculus. Aurora uses her various platforming skills, including using flight, to explore the world and also has various combat skills to dispatch enemies with. The second player controls her following ball of light, Igniculus, who supports her outside of combat by revealing hidden areas and interacting with objects, as well as inside combat with healing powers and stun effects.

How to Survive

Players can team up with other survivors in local and online multiplayer story and challenge modes to take on a growing array of the infected. As of now the local and online co-op differs slighty in terms of story.

Stardew Valley

Up to three other players can join the host player as farmhands. Farmhands can do almost anything the main player can do. They can farm, mine, fight, fish, forage, marry NPCs and take part in festivals. Each player has their own inventory. When a farmhand is not connected, their inventory can be managed through a chest in their cabin.

Civilization V

Research is shared between players when choosing to play on the same team. If both players research the same item, the time it takes is reduced. When one player discovered a technology, the other gets it as well.Players share the benefits of landmarks, ruins, and other discoveries on the map.Players share the map. Diplomatic options are available as well to trade resources, gold, and units.Co-Op is played in multiplayer with each player picking to join the same "team." It's assumed a balance of 3 players vs 3 AI are chosen, but you can weight it to 3vs1vs1vs1 or 3vs2 or 2vs1, etc.

Renegade Ops

Team up online with up to four people for destructive co-op action.

Pac-Man 256

Up to four players pick their characters and work together. The goal is for everyone to get as far as possible. In the end all scores are combined. If a player dies, a power-up drops that if collected brings that player back.

Super Blood Hockey

Up to four players can take on a team of bots in all team modes. Each player controls one of the  characters on the field. One player can use the keyboard, all others need controllers.

Divinity: Original Sin II

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has a huge story campaign with over 80 hours of gameplay. It can be played both in single-player and in co-op with up to 4 players. On the PC, the game will support up to two players locally using game controllers. The title will also support four player combo co-op, meaning two local players can be joined online by two other players. LAN play is also supported.

The Game Master mode allows one player to assume the role of the Game Master and create a custom campaign for up to 4 players. This is, essentially, a tabletop RPG-style experience within a video game.

Beyond: Two Souls

Beyond: Two Soul's "Dual Mode" allows two players on smartphones or tablets (iOs or Android) to control Aiden and Jodie by touchscreen gestures. Players can also use two controllers and alternate the characters. Dual Mode does not allow both players to play at the same time, with play being restricted to one character at a time.

Baldur's Gate III

Team up with friends online and on LAN through the game's campaign as well as in local split-screen (vertical).

Age of Wonders III

Stand Alone Scenarios and Random Maps can be played with up to 8 players which can be AI or Human Players. Theoretically you could setup a game with 7 human players VS 1 AI (though this would be unfair for the AI). Because of this we've listed co-op as 4 (for balance). You can play coop together on one machine in Hotseat or in online sessions with fixed teams. This is the local co-op aspect. Note The campaign is single player only.

Vampire Survivors

In couch co-op mode, you can either continue your current game or start a new adventure. It is also possible to seamlessly switch between single and co-op play between stages, unlock achievements, etc.
