It's been nearly nine years since Saints Row: The Third glimpsed a world in which the eponymous Saints had reached celebrity status, and what a world it was. Luckily, we no longer have to daydream about such a place (or bust out our old consoles to explore it), because Saints Row: The Third Remastered is releasing on May 22nd.
It's a tale as old as time. Gangster becomes president. President gains superpowers. Superpowerful president defends the earth from aliens. You've heard it a thousand times, and you'll hear it once more when Saints Row IV: Re-Elected makes its way to the Nintendo Switch on March 27th.
You read that title correctly. Saints Row 2, the second entry in the Saints Row franchise, a title that is now 11 years old, will be receiving a patch on the PC before we know it. The update comes due to Volition, the Saint’s Row series developer, finally finding the source code for the PC version of the game, the port of which was handled by an outside studio. While this is both official and delightful news - especially the bit about co-op working now - the timeframe when the PC version will be patched and content added are still yet to be announced. With Volition also working on Saints Row 5, it could be some time before we see this come to fruition.
At the end of every month, we Xbox Live Gold members are on the edge of our seats for the new games that will become free the following month, and the recently-released game lineup for August 2019 does not disappoint. Beginning August 1st, 2019, Gears of War 4 is free to anyone who is an Xbox Gold member, with Forza Motorsport 6 becoming free August 15th, with Gears of War remaining free until August 31st and Forza free until Sep 15th. Both games are only available on Xbox One, as the Xbox 360 is given its own games for the program.
If you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription, then you can check out Gears of War 4 for free starting today. You'll be able to play through as much of the campaign and Horde modes (and competitive multiplayer, too) as you like until 2:59 AM EST on Monday, February 4. After that time with the game, if you decide you want to keep on playing, then you'll be able to buy it and keep your progress.
With the launch of the Xbox One X a variety of games have come forward with enhanced editions, the latest of which is Gears of War 4. Although GoW 4 was originally released on the Xbox One only a year ago, the Enhanced version for the One X is pushing either the graphics or speed of gameplay itself.
Keeping with the schedule of interesting, unpredictable choices, Microsoft has announced that Kane and Lynch 2 will will headline their Games with Gold for July, 2017. While the title was originally released for the Xbox 360, it has been on Xbox One’s list of backwards compatible games since December, 2015. Our thoughts on the game can be found, here.

Last week Microsoft was running a "Backwards Compatibility" sale for their weekly "Deals with Gold," meaning you could pick up a bunch of older Xbox 360 titles for cheap. This week, they're offering discounts on some of their first-party title, including Halo 5, Gears of War 4, and Halo Wars 2.
Before M$ had the idea to give away a couple of 'free' games every month, PlayStation were offering the service. Yes, this may be because PS+ is a paid service, but a game for $0(ish) is nothing to be scoffed at. The protagonists of the Saints Row series are used to taking things for nothing, so don't feel bad that in July you will get Saints Row: Gat out of Hell for nada.
More free games are on the way for Xbox owners, all thanks to Games with Gold. Four titles were recently announced for the Month of may, including a couple of old classics and a nice co-op strategy game.
Capcom has been doing quite well with its Resident Evil remakes/remasters lately, with the original selling over a million copies and Resident Evil 0 doing well enough. While work on the second title is still underway, Capcom took to YouTube to announce that remakes of Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
