Earlier this week, Sol Survivor, the indie co-op tower defense title previously only available via XBox LIVE Indie Games, was brought to the PC through Steam and Impulse. This transition between gaming platforms is more than just a port, though, as the PC version comes with a few community demanded (and needed) enhancements. We've updated our previous Sol Survivor review with a new page that gives our impressions of this latest version.

Some good co-op deals for all the Playstation users out there, courtesy of the Playstation Blog's weekly Playstation Store Update. The remake of the classic Capcom co-op shoot 'em up, 1942: Joint Strike, is on sale this week for just $4.99, and Trine, a grand three player co-op adventure, is being permanently discounted from $19.99 to $14.99. In his review of 1942, Nick praised the job Backbone Entertainment did in bringing this classic title back and concluded by saying "if you love top down scrolling shooters, and you love playing them with friends, you are going to really enjoy 1942: Joint Strike." Trine was selected by our staff as the "Best Downloadable Co-Op Title" for the 2009 Co-Op GOTY Awards, and Katrina's impression of the PSN version was that it was every bit as competent and fun as its PC counterpart. Two great deals for two great co-op games; seems like a good way to start the weekend to me!

Out now on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is the first set of DLC for Army of Two: The 40th Day. Titled Chapters of Deceit, it adds two new campaign missions for players to experience.
I'm not sure who gets deceived in this content, but I'm pretty sure whoever it, they get shot.

While there are certainly enough new releases these days, of both the co-op and non-co-op variety, to keep a gamer busy for awhile, some of last year’s best co-op titles are seeing new life these days with expansions. Chaos Rising, the first major expansion to last year’s excellent co-op RTS title Dawn of War 2, arrived last Thursday and we could hardly wait to check out all of the new features it added. Those looking for a great add-on piece to an excellent co-op game won't be disappointed by this expansion, but players who are seeking a bit more than a fun diversion may want to think about holding off until the price drops a little.

There's a pair of co-op releases this week, both of which belong to long standing franchises.
Out today is Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight for the PC. You can purchase C&C 4 from Amazon for under $50 right here.
Next up, and out tomorrow, is Perfect Dark HD for Xbox Live Arcade. The game features two player online and split screen co-op throughout the whole campaign. Perfect Dark HD costs 800
and can be downloaded here when available.

Bethesda has announced an agreement to publish inXile's upcoming fantasy action game called Hunted: The Demon's Forge. The game is a two player 3rd person co-op title where players assume the role of E'larra or Caddoc as you embark on a journey to find out what is corrupting the world - just a guess - but it's probably in the Demon's Forge.

Co-op fans can be hard to please. Really hard. We know it, and developers know it. Does your game have two-player co-op? Make it four-player co-op. Does your game have splitscreen co-op? Make it splitscreen online. Does your game have co-op side missions? Make it a co-op campaign.
Well, two out of three ain't bad, right? The co-op campaign in two-player online/splitscreen title Splinter Cell: Conviction is being developed with a writer on board whose sole purpose is to make sure the storyline is solid.
