After a period of Apple Arcade exclusivity, Super Evil Megacorp's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is riding the timed exclusivity train onto Nintendo Switch. The top-down roguelike features a great 2D visual style, an authentic comic book-style storyline, and 4-player online co-op. The Turtles will be splintering fates on Switch this July.
Hammerwatch II's journey to Xbox has been long and perilous. After first launching on Steam in the fall of 2023, the game finally turned up on PlayStation 5 last December. Since then, Xbox gamers who enjoyed the original Hammerwatch and the sublime Heroes of Hammerwatch have been anxiously awaiting their turn at the long-promised sequel. At last, the wait is nearly over because Hammerwatch II will hit Xbox and PlayStation 4 on April 23.

The developers at Untold Tales realized this, and so they've just added online co-op to their 3D farming adventure, Everdream Valley. At last, a team up of up to four friends and get down and dirty together - in a colorful, family-friendly way, of course. The co-op update has arrived on Steam ahead of the console versions, but they'll be getting multiplayer in the future as well.
Sometimes you just want to get away. Where better than an alien planet? In Time to Morp from Team Halfbeard and Yogscast Games, up to four online players can team up to colonize an alien planet. On that planet, they will raise cutesy aliens called morps, harvest resources, and build machines. Time to Morp has just arrived on Steam Early Access, so it's officially morpin' time.
In 2021, Robi Studios released a fairly well-liked 3D action adventure game called Blue Fire. Robi is now hard at work on their next game, Solar Raiders. This one maintains some appealing visual artistry but changes up the genre to roguelike shooter. It will also feature 4-player online co-op, something we're all about. The game isn't due until next year, but the developer has already released a demo on Steam.
Last year, 4J Studios, the makers of Minecraft: Console Edition, released a car-themed twist on Overcooked called Manic Mechanics. The gameplay was great, but being a Switch exclusive, the game could have looked and run a little better. That's no longer a problem, thankfully, because Manic Mechanics has finally arrived on all the other big platforms. It supports 4-player local and online co-op, and it promises lots of party-style fun.
After emerging from early access and launching on consoles in the fall, Bang-On Balls: Chronicles from Exit Plan Games was not done. It still had more balls to bang on. As promised a few weeks back, the game has now received Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 upgrades, allowing for even higher resolutions of balls to bang. In seriousness, the game is pretty bangin', especially in 4-player online co-op.
Back in 2021, D3 Publisher and Yuke's unleashed a family-friendly spin-off of the EDF series called Earth Defense Force: World Brothers. We quite liked that game's colorful, voxel art style and humor. Fast-forwarding to 2024, it looks like we're in for another good time because Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 has been officially announced for a September release on PlayStation and Switch!
G.I. Joe is a franchise that seems very well-suited to video games, but the games have been few and far between over the years. The upcoming G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra from Maple Powered Games and Freedom Games looks to rectify that scarcity. Wrath of Cobra will be the Joes' first beat 'em up. It's due out this year on Steam and Switch. It has been three years since indie developer Aftnareld announced Coridden, a co-op action RPG for Steam. The game missed its initial target release window of late 2022, but it's finally due to come out during Q3 of this year. To drive the point home, Aftnareld has released a fresh Steam demo that shows off Coridden's cool monster transformation mechanics and both local and online co-op!
