The latest update for the game has added a cooperative feature that I hope is the basis for more to come. Called Club Challenges, the game allows your 20 city Mayor's Club to work together to unlock chests of items for the game. The higher your cumulative score, the better and more rare of a chest you'll earn. These reset every week, so you'll always have a chance for more goodies.

Pokémon Go to Add Co-Op Raid Battles This SummerTally Callahan

This summer, Pokémon GO will receive a huge free summer update that is geared towards making the game more accessible and social. One of the update's big headliners is the introduction of cooperative Raid Battles. For Raid Battles, up to 20 players will be able to team up together to fight rare bosses, but they will need a raid pass to participate. Players get one free raid pass a day, with the option to purchase additional ones. If eligible to participate, players will see pokémon eggs randomly appear at gyms with count-down timers, which denote when they will hatch. This is the cue for nearby players to virtually assemble. When the counter ticks down to zero, the egg will hatch into a boss that the players have five minutes to beat. If they succeed, they'll get a chance to capture a rare pokémon (the details are unclear whether all participating players get this chance, or a limited number of them). Other Raid Battle rewards include raid-specific items such as rare candies, golden razz berries (which give you a better chance for catching wild pokémon), and technical machines (which allow trainers to teach their pokémon fast and change attacks).

Designer board games are getting quite popular these days, to the point where we’re starting to see quality digital adaptations of them. Though co-op board games are a popular genre (check out Marc’s Tabletop Co-op series), surprisingly few of these games have been adapted from their cardboard forms. Mysterium bucks this trend, being a ...

The Arctis line from Steelseries, a new line of headsets designed from the ground up to refocus on minimalist yet gamer-driven emphasis, launched this fall. While the Arctis 3, Arctis 5, and Arctis 7 have increasingly specialized features, each one is designed to boast the same quality sound. The unit I received was an Arctis 3, the set with the most basic features and lowest price tag of the three. Despite being the least expensive, this price-point ($80) still puts the unit on the high end of mid-cost units. The Arctis 3 comes with the headset and three separate cords. There’s a universal cord which plugs into the headphones and can then plug into a variety of audio out adapters, two of which come with the headset: a short 4-pole adapter (which can plug into controllers, phones, etc.) and a long 3.5 mm analog adapter that can plug into the audio and mic ports of a PC. Compare this with the Arctis 5 ($100 with USB connection and RGB LEDs) and Actis 7 ($150 for USB connection and wireless option).

Cloud Stinger Headset Let’s start with the headset. The Cloud Stinger is the latest in the HyperX headset family. It follows several others in the Cloud Series and Cloud Revolver Series. The Cloud Stinger was manifested from HyperX’s desire to create a durable and comfortable piece of gear with high sound quality for under $50. The headset’s slogan is even “the best gaming headset for under $50."

"Realms" are a new addition to the world of Minecraft and they are basically hosted worlds within Microsoft's cloud. From the menu, you can setup a new Realm by selecting the appropriate choice when creating a new world. You can specify how many users are allowed to join (either 2 or 10) and how long the Realm will be available (30 or 180 days). Once it's created, you can invite friends from the Windows 10 version, any supported mobile device, or even those that are lost in the madness that is virtual reality.

It may be a two year old game, but Pre-Sequel's got a lot of love left to give. It's seen a release on previous gen consoles as well as PC, yet this version doesn't quite fit either of those categories. It's technically an Android game, but you have to have an Nvidia Shield TV box in order to play. Not an Nvidia Shield Tablet or that Nvidia clamshell handheld thingy, just the TV device. If you've got the hardware, Pre-Sequel is easily the beefiest game you can download. It currently sells for a respectable $14.99 and requires the controller to play.

It's more of the Cactus you (and us, if our review is any indication) love, but for Sony's shiny current gen platform. You and three friends can team up to take on the forces of Robot Evil to collect battery packs so you don't die. It's kind of like the Streets of Rage equivalent of punching bad guys until turkeys fall out of them, but for robots.

Once in the dungeon, both players will use the same board. Each turn lasts three minutes, any longer and the turn is forfeit. If you don't see any good moves, the option to pass is available once per dungeon. If one player abandons the game, it will switch to single player mode. The person that created the room has the ability to use magic stones and continue. As of right now, there are 22 dungeons to master.

Here's a quick breakdown of both titles. Assault Android Cactus is a fantastic twin-stick shooter where you and up to three of your friends (locally) control robots to fight your way through a ship that's been taken over by a rogue A.I. Each character has her own unique primary and alternate weapons, and teaming up with friends allows for a lot of crazy combinations. Something new for the PlayStation 4 version of the game is that it will support the Shareplay feature, meaning you can pull in a remote friend to take over one of the local co-op spots for an hour at a time.

Redstone circuits allow Minecrafters to build switches that power doors, turn torches on/off, and do way more complicated things if you spend months of your life planning them out. It's a small update with massive potential, as now players can start making in-game calculators and mad stuff like that. Or, if you're like me, you'll just make a zombie squishing machine. Either method's just as fun. In addition to the redstone circuits, Minecraft: Pocket Edition also gets some extras like desert temples that spawn during map creation, and... rabbits!

The words “twin-stick shooter” have become far too common a descriptor for games these days and it feels, at times, like the gamut of possibilities for what types of things you can shoot using two joysticks on a controller has now reached its exhaustive conclusion. Then you play a game like Assault Android Cactus and remember why t...
