The PS Plus scheme has been one of the best ideas Sony have had since they learned to Walk(man).  The scheme provides members with the occasional free game.  March is no different and the games being made free include The Cave, a 3 player adventure game and Spec Ops: The Line.  Check out Read More for the other games coming free in March and the co-op games being removed from the scheme...

Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 2.20.2012Andrew Gaskill

The PlayStation Vita is launching this week.  Again.  Special people got the system last week.  I wasn't one of them.  I'm not jealous, or anything.  It features a handful of co-op launch titles.  Expect a full review of the hardware later this week.

2.21.2012

Syndicate (PC, 360, PS3)  The demo for this squad shooter generated a lot of buzz amongst Co-Optimus staff members.  That's a good thing.  4 player online co-op

Army Corps of Hell Trailer Shows Heavy Metal Co-Op StrategyNick Puleo

We're only a handful of weeks away from the PlayStation Vita launch, and one of the most unique looking co-op titles for the system is Army Corps of Hell.  The game is being published by Square-Enix and looks a bit similar to the Overlord games we've seen before.  In it you'll control hordes of goblins as you conquer monsters and other baddies all while thrashing to heavy metal music.  That last part I may have just made up, but after watching the latest trailer, I can't see it done any other way.

In the trailer we get a glimpse at the game's four player online co-op mode, which apparently is about strategizing with friends as much as it is griefing them.  Hmm...this might be the surprise hit of the PlayStation Vita launch for co-op fans.

New Trailer for Army Corps of Hell Blends Diablo and PikminAndrew Gaskill

This new video for Army Corps of Hell is a head scratcher.  It starts off with some Diablo-esque visuals, then it cues up the death metal, quick cuts, and cartoons. This video is an assault on the senses. I can't really tell what's going on, but it looks like there is an Overlord/Pikmin mechanic at play, and I think the bosses look cool.  It winds down with some minor dismemberment, a little decapitation, and an abundance of blood.  Once you recover from your initial state of "WTF," let us know what you think.

Army Corps of Hell should launch with the Playstation Vita at the end of February 2012.  It supports four player online co-op.

Four Player Co-Op Army Corps of Hell Coming to PlayStation Vita, First Screens Andrew Gaskill

The PlayStation Vita may be a ways off for US consumers, but we can still get excited about potential co-op games.  Army Corps of Hell was just announced at the Tokyo Game Show.  It will launch with the new handheld on December 17th in Japan.  Aside from having a very cool title, the game has been reported to support  four player co-op.  According to Andriasang.com, "you play as a king of demons and must command an army of 100 goblins in the many floating islands that make up hell."  Sounds kind of like Overlord, but on an island paradise.  An island paradise - in HELL!  Mwa-ha-ha.

Check out the following pics.  We've got demons, goblins, and skeletons, oh my!  We don't have too many details, yet, but we'll be sure to share them with you when they surface.
