Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 Announced for PlayStation and Switch

Back in 2021, D3 Publisher and Yuke's unleashed a family-friendly spin-off of the EDF series called Earth Defense Force: World Brothers. We quite liked that game's colorful, voxel art style and humor. Fast-forwarding to 2024, it looks like we're in for another good time because Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 has been officially announced for a September release on PlayStation and Switch!

Custom Mech Wars (From the Publisher of EDF) Out Now on PlayStation 5 and Steam

Japanese publisher D3 Publisher's Earth Defense Force series has always provided addictive co-op thrills. Now D3 Publisher (which has apparently been bought by Bandai Namco) has unleashed an exciting new title on PlayStation 5 and Steam called Custom Mech Wars. This one lets players design wildly inventive custom mechs and then tackle missions together in 4-player online co-op. Yeah, that sounds a lot like EDF but with even more mechs!

Earth Defense Force 6 Is Finally Coming to North America and Europe in Spring 2024

When Earth Defense Force 6 launched on PlayStation in Japan back in 2022, we thought for sure that an English release would follow in 2023. Summer 2023 came and went with no announcement, however, which certainly distressed fans of the series. Thankfully, we no longer have to worry because D3PUBLISHER has just announced that Earth Defense Force 6 will come to PlayStation and Steam in North America and Europe early next year!

Update: The PlayStation version actually has local co-op, so only the Steam version lacks it.

Martian Panic Arrives on PlayStation and Steam, But the Steam Game Ditches Co-op

Update: After our story went live, Funbox informed us that the PlayStation store listing had incorrectly listed the game as being single-player. The PlayStation version does have 4-player local co-op, and its store page has now been updated! The Steam version really is limited to single-player due to the PC version only having mouse controls, the publisher explained.

Colorful Co-op Survival Game 'Solarpunk' Announced for PC and Consoles

You can't throw a rock without hitting a survival game these days. I just threw one, and it hit Smalland: Survive the Wilds! Well, Solarpunk, the upcoming survival game from Cyberwave and Rokaplay, differentiates itself with a fantastic setting: the sky. Players will travel between floating islands on an airship and work together to build, farm, and craft gadgets. The developers plan to first launch on Steam Early Access next year, followed by console versions. To make all that happen, they've just launched a Kickstarter.

Monster Hunter for the Fortnite generation

Wild Hearts Impressions and Stream Recap

Over the past 20 years, there have been a number of action-RPG titles that fall in line with the reductive/encompassing idea of "Monster Hunter-like." The latest entry into this field - Wild Hearts - comes from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force and published by Electronic Arts, and it shows a lot of promise... if it can just get out of its own way.

Blast aliens with up to 4 players in this retro rail shooter.

Martian Panic Co-op Review

Way back in 2010, N-Fusion Interactive released a light gun-style rail shooter on Wii called Martian Panic. Earlier this year, Martian Panic returned on Nintendo Switch alongside the Martian Panic Alien Blaster accessory. The game features a deliberately corny retro vibe, lighthearted humor, and 4-player local co-op. Unfortunately, poor controls an...

Grab a sci-fi blaster for gun games like House of the Dead Remake!

Martian Panic Alien Blaster: Nintendo Switch Accessory Review

The Switch is no stranger to light gun-style games, but these games lack a certain authenticity when played without a prop gun. That's where the Martian Panic Alien Blaster from Fun Box Media comes in. Originally bundled with the game, Martian Panic, the blaster turns a Joy-Con into an alien blaster with lights and sounds. It's a unique accessory that works with games like The House of the Dead Remake, not just Martian Panic.
