New Trailer for Ascend: Hand of Kul Details Gameplay

A new trailer has surfaced that details some of the gameplay mechanics of Signal Studios' Ascend: Hand of Kul. In Ascend, you are a Caos, a champion of the gods. You are tasked with ridding the lands of other god's shrines, titans, and creatures. Overall, you are trying to diminish the presence of rival gods and make yours stand above all others. Along the way, you will fight many mythical creatures, conquering them in a brutal fashion.

Crimson Dragon No Longer Requires Kinect, May Still be Coming to 360

The last bit of news we heard about Crimson Dragon, the game being hailed as the spiritual successor to the widely popular Panzer Dragoon series, was that the PAX East 2012 demo had found its way onto the Japanese XBLA marketplace. This was, perhaps, a bit of fortuitous happenstance for the much delayed title as the project's director, Yukio Futatsugi, received a good deal of feedback about the game being Kinect only. It seems that folks weren't content using only some gestures and their voice to control their dragons, and preferred the tried-and-true method of using those twin analog sticks and face buttons. So, Crimson Dragon will no longer be Kinect only. However, that's not the only bit of news coming out of E3 about this co-op title.

Ascend: New Gods Renamed to Ascend: Hand of Kul

It's been almost a year since we first got a hands-on with Signal Studios' action RPG Ascend: New Gods. After all those months and the recent opening of closed beta, the team has decided it's time for a name change. Just like Istanbul was once called Constantinople, Ascend: New Gods is now Ascend: Hand of Kul. So if you have a date to play New Gods, she'll be playing in Hand of Kul. When it's actually released, that is.

Ascend: New Gods Headed to PC in Addition to Xbox 360, Windows Phone

At Co-Optimus, we've always been impressed with Signal Studios' console releases. Toy Soldiers was a fine first outing, deftly mixing the tower defense and action genres with a dash of nostalgia. The follow-up, Toy Soldiers: Cold War really put the developer on our radar thanks to its addition of cooperative multiplayer. Signal's next game, Ascend: New Gods (first announced at E3) looks more ambitious than not only their previous games, but even a great many retail titles. While Ascend's initial announcement only mentioned the Xbox 360 and Windows Phone platforms, we're pleased to share some exclusive news with you today. It's coming to PC next year as well!
