Not your wallet, which is likely still empty after Guitar Hero 5 and The Beatles Rock Band. Though both games are intended for the younger set, there's still plenty of good songs for all to enjoy on your well-worn fake instruments today. Quite a bit of Band Hero news for you today. We've been curious about whether Band Hero songs would be importable to Guitar Hero 5. Turns out 61 out of 65 of them are, for a fee of $5. Songs from World Tour, Smash Hits, and Guitar Hero 5 will be importable into Band Hero, as well. Confusing? Yes, but at least the feature is being offered.

We've just recieved word of the latest songs revealed for tween friendly music game Band Hero. The big focus of Band Hero seems to be young Taylor Swift, featuring her in three different songs as well as an in-game avatar. If you were looking to "rock out" to You Belong With Me, Picture to Burn, and Love Story, you'll get the chance on November 3.
Considering there are several decent tunes in the Band Hero song list, we wondered if we'd be able to import them into Guitar Hero 5. We asked Activision about it several days ago, and thus far, we've not received a response. Sometimes, no news is good news, but in this case, we're guessing you won't be able to export these songs to Guitar Hero 5. Too bad, because, hey, MR. ROBOTO IS AWESOME.

Like Guitar Hero 5, the more pop-ish Band Hero will offer drop-in and drop-out cooperative play for any instrument while in the middle of a song. Hopefully this becomes a staple feature in all music and rhythm games moving forward, I'm looking at you Rock Band franchise!
We have a handful of new screenshots of the game in action, though you really shouldn't be to shocked at what you see. It looks like Guitar Hero, it looks to play like Guitar Hero, but will it sound like Guitar Hero? Probably not quite with the likes of Taylor Swift, Adam Levine and other more, uh, teen friendly stars.
Speaking of Taylor Swift we have a great new video of her being "imported" into Band Hero. It's a fascinating look at the process of digitizing something - it's also a great excuse for us to post something that has Taylor Swift in full body spandex.

"So.. like.. we just got this press release, y'know, and like... it just about BLEW our MINDS! Like, totally. Taylor Swift is going to be in Band Hero, and I think I'm like.. gonna faint! I was all OMG I gotta txt all my friends about it! Like, awesome. She's so awesome I gotta get daddy to buy me this game! And maybe one of those... Wii things, or something? Check out the web site it's SO PRETTY oh wow... like... I wish I had her hair, y'know?"
Yes, loyal readers, Taylor Swift is invading living rooms across the globe, being featured in upcoming fall release Band Hero. Our prediction is that the game will now sell eleventy billion copies. We have a gallery for your perusal, featuring the in-game likeness of Miss Swift, plus a few other gameplay shots. You can also view the reveal trailer, if you like!

It's like deja vu all over again. Band Hero has been announced for the Nintendo DS via press release. Wait a minute, you say. The DS has a microphone built in, and the Guitar Grip has been out for a while now. How are folks supposed to play the drums? There's a miniaturized and likely finger cramping attachment coming that will allow just that. The aptly named Drum Grip (which you don't really... you know, grip) will let you pretend to play the larger pretend drums you have back home, while you're on the go!
You have to give them credit for trying, but it appears that this is just a skin/glove holding some fancy button toppers. I wonder if the drums will be playable without the grip? According to the release, 30 songs by "today's top artists" will be available. One has to wonder if they will be able to squeeze vocals, bass, guitar, and drums for thirty songs all onto one cartridge. Let's hope so, or the portable Band Hero won't really be very portable.

In what can only be described as an inexplicable twist, it appears that the controversial art style of Diablo 3 has been copied for upcoming music game Band Hero. Rainbows, pastels, and even a healthy dose of pink hues adorn the official Band Hero site. We've got a few initial reactions from fans of the music game genre.
"I just don't get it. The previous Guitar Hero games have been dark and somewhat gloomy. Are we going to see Axel Steel in a My Little Pony t-shirt?"
"I know when I get together with my friends to play Guitar Hero, we enjoy the characters and backgrounds the most. Now that's all ruined!"
"I've created an online petition, and a few friends are joining me in creating an alternate Band Hero website with the muted colors we all know and love."
A few artists have been revealed for Band Hero, as well, including No Doubt, Taylor Swift, and Lily Allen. Perhaps the change in art style is extending more into the gameplay, as well? Are limited edition guitar controllers covered in pink sparkles in our future? Watch the just released teaser trailer, and then come back and bemoan the fate of the Hero franchise here!
