Good news for defenders of Sanctuary. To help celebrate the one year anniversary of Diablo 3, Blizzard is offering an in-game buff to players. If you log on to play Diablo 3 between May 15 and May 21, you will receive a 25 percent buff to both magic find and experience gain stats. The developer states; "The buff is only available while logged in to the game, but it will apply to all characters as well as stack with other similar bonuses -- the EXP bonus will stack multiplicatively and the Magic Find bonus will stack above the 300% cap."
The latest Diablo 3 patch for PC has been released, and with it comes a great boon to cooperative players. The latest patch brings the game up to version 1.0.8, and adds a host of changes to both the single player and cooperative aspects of the game. Players that adventure together will earn an extra 10% to their Magic Find, Gold Find, and Experience gains for each additional player in the game, up to a max of 30%.
When word came around that Blizzard would be releasing Diablo 3 for the PS3 and PS4, most of us were stunned. It had been a long time since Blizzard has announced anything regarding the console platforms. But they did just that at the Playstation 4 reveal earlier this year. From a game that has garnered polarizing coverage, yet soared in terms of sales, it looks like the console version of Diablo 3 may turn out to be a wonderful cooperative experience. Tally went hands on with Diablo 3 on the PS3 at PAX East, and was rather impressed.
With all this talk about Diablo 3’s PlayStation 4 future, we’d think most would like to hear about what’s not so far off in the distance instead. As we are told by Blizzard, fans will be happy to know that co-op specific improvements will be arriving to Diablo 3 in its upcoming patch.
To everyone's surprise during the big PS4 reveal last week, Blizzard graced the audience with their presence. Many of us sat and gazed in wonder, and if they were anything like me, were praying for some sort of reboot of Blackthorne. What we did get was what pretty much anyone could have expected - a port of Diablo 3 to the PS3 and the PS4. For the past week or so, Blizzard's been teasing the just-released 1.0.4 patch for Diablo 3, detailing many of the systems and class updates, but surprised us a bit when they dropped details on their take on alternate advancement: the Paragon System (Sorry, there's no Renegade counterpart). Once your character hits level 60, you'll begin accumulating experience towards your Paragon level, which bestows core stat increases and permanent boosts to your Magic Find and Gold Find ratings.

It's patch Tuesday...for Diablo 3. Blizzard has taken down the servers, uploaded a new build, and required you to enjoy its nerfing goodness in your game. Version 1.02 of Diablo 3 includes a host of new fixes and enhancements, including some balance tweaks to character skills in what looks and sounds very MMO. Expect to see quotes like this quite often.
When Diablo 2 launched in 2000, I worked at a store called Electronics Boutique, the predecessor to Gamestop. I still remember walking into the back room and seeing a stack of boxes twice as high as myself and thinking - damn - that's a lot of copies of that game. But apparently that was nothing. Blizzard have announced that Diablo 3 has sold over 6.5 million copies in its first week alone, with 4.7 million of those sales coming on the FIRST DAY. And you wonder why you had an Error 37.
It is quite possible that Blizzard wanted to spite those people who have deemed Diablo III too colorful, contrasting it from the rest of the franchise. By hiding the magical fairy land of Whimsyshire within the depths of the Diablo III, players are given a land that no one thought they’d find within the confines of a Diablo game.
There are those that said this day would never come. But come it has, the day your mouse cries out in terror as you click it thousands of times per minute. It's been 12 years since Diablo 2 was released, but Diablo 3 is finally here - and he's ready, willing and waiting.
