PS3 and PC gamers can expect to be playing the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC by the end of the month. The Annihilation map pack features four new multiplayer versus areas and another co-op Zombie map. The new stages are set in exotic locales such as a drive-in, a golf course, a construction site, and an airplane hangar. If those locations don't sound that interesting, wait until you throw twelve people with automatic weapons into the mix. That always livens up a party. The Zombie map is called Shangri-la, and it features a few new surprises for Zombie veterans. You can see our impressions of the Annihilation map pack here.
Tickets which should be of interest to anyone loopy enough for all things Call of Duty will go on sale next Tuesday, July 19th. These tickets grant access to the first ever Call of Duty XP (short for "experience"), held in Los Angeles, California on September 02nd and 03rd.
Here we go folks, just in time for the three day weekend in the US. We've got three Xbox 360 codes for the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack called Annhilation. You can read our impressions of it right here.
The second Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack was released yesterday, and we gave it a run-through on Combat Training. The pack includes four new maps for multiplayer (and the aforementioned Combat Training co-op/bot mode), plus one new Zombies map that may be the creepiest one since Verrückt.
As Digital distribution becomes more popular, sales happen. Whenever a sale appears, many gamers instantly hit that “confirm buy” button. Without a tangible way to document how many games that actually includes, or how many of them we have time to play, we may be victims of digital hoarding.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is getting yet another DLC map pack. This means more "Zombies." We got "Ascension" with the First Strike pack, "Call of the Dead" with Escalation, and now we get "Shangri-La" in Annihilation. CoD: BO's "Zombies" modes have really improved on each other, and the latest one appears to follow suite. Check out the video below for a glimpse of some of the new toys that will be available (pungi stick claymores!). Yes, the evil monkey makes an appearance. We even have a screenshot gallery of some hot zombie action.
While Call of Duty: World at War saw evil, exploding monkeys - they were only a toy. The first trailer showing gameplay footage of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack called "Annhilation" has something far far sinister - evil zombie monkeys.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack is out on the PC complete with four new versus maps and a brand new over the top co-op zombie map. Just how over the top is it? It features famed director George A. Romero, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo kicking zombie ass and whipping one liners, as well as an original music track from Avenged Sevenfold titled "Not Ready to Die."
Yes, that's the correct header image. This picture is from the promotional poster for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack, "Escalation". Or more specifically, this is for the new Zombie map included in "Escalation". It's been a few months since Activision and friends have collected their Black Ops fee from hardcore players, so it must be time for new DLC! The last map pack, "First Strike," was an adequate addition to the multiplayer maps, and also included its own Zombie map, "Ascension". This new pack comes at the same price tag and offers similar content: four new multiplayer maps and a new Zombie episode. In all honesty, this pack feels meatier than the last one.
Is that Danny Trejo? You don't even know! Stop what you're doing and watch this trailer now!
In news that comes as no surprise to anyone, new maps are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops. The new pack is titled Escalation, and it will be released on the Xbox 360 on May 3rd. You can see the titles of the maps above. (The map titles are Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, Stockpile, and Call of the Dead, if you can't read red ink.) The Escalation map pack will contain four multiplayer maps and one Zombie map. I'm not a betting man, but I'd put my money on Call of the Dead being the Zombie map, even though the Zoo would be more awesome. Everyone loved the monkeys in First Strike's Ascension, right? Call of the Dead may be interesting, as Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia said in the press release: "I don't want to spoil any surprises for Zombies fans, but Call of the Dead takes it to a whole new level." The rest of the multiplayer maps should be available for co-op friendly Combat Training.
The next downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Escalation - has been outed by Australian games retailer GAME. In true Treyarch fashion, a new Zombies map will be included. Named "Call of the Dead", the co-op survival board joins four competitive maps (that should be playable in the pseudo-cooperative mode Combat Training as well), respectively named Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, and Stockpile.
PC gamers may not have received the content first. They may not even get a kick-ass Scorpions music video. They do, however, have a mouse and keyboard setup that they like to lord over other gamers, so at least they have that going for them, right? The Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack, First Strike, is finally coming to PC. If you're wondering if new CoD:Black Ops maps are right for you, you can check out our impressions of the content here. On March 25 the First Strike map pack, consisting of four new multiplayer maps plus one new co-op Zombie map will be available for download for $14.99. You can even pick it up for 10% off on Steam! CoD: Black Ops is the best selling game of all time, so you owe it to yourself, but mostly Activision, to buy these maps.
That's right. One thousand percent more guitar solo. If you don't think that's possible then you simply don't know how to do guitar solo math. Yesterday we brought you the news that the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike Map Pack will be released on the PS3 on March 3rd. People with calendars tell me that day is today. Hooray! Now, on yesterday's post some wisenheimer may have poked fun at PS3 owners. He (or she) has been horrifically reprimanded. Today, we make it up to you with the best video featuring Scorpion's "Wind of Change" you'll see all day.
