The new "Escape" mode allows up to four players to team up online to "beat the various challenges and defeat AI-controlled in your quest to escape from the depths of the mysterious pyramid in the heart of Siberia." Based on the gameplay video they released, it looks like you'll mainly be facing off against human "ghouls" as you make your way through different zones within the pyramid. It's a little less Left 4 Dead and a little more Halo, in a way.

Team Up With Friends to Man A Space Station in UndercrewedJason Love

The blending of those two titles isn't too far off from what appears to be the core gameplay. You (and up to three of your buddies either locally, online, or a mix of the two) design your own space station, choosing the general layout and where certain key ship functions (shields, maneuvering, weapons, etc) are placed. The placement of those things are important as you'll have to "man your stations" when faced with enemy ships. You don't want to have run all the way across the station to get to the shields at a critical moment in a firefight! There also appears to be a skill tree that branches into four different paths (Captain, Engineering, Weapons, and Medical) so players can spec into certain roles/classes.

We've covered Dauntless a few times in the past, and Tally even wrote up some impressions of the game last fall when it first entered Closed Beta. All in all, we found the game to be more approachable and easy to hop into than Monster Hunter (though World did a lot to address those particular issues). I haven't spent much time in it since that stream, but after playing a lot of Monster Hunter World this past month and a half, I'm curious to dive back in and check it out again. I'm always up for a good hunt!

The game is described as a "compact action-RPG" that also appears to have some rogue-lite elements. You'll play as a hero that sets out to defeat the evil Mormo and her army, but all experience/power you gain during the course of that adventure goes into the sword you wield. When you perish, you'll start off as a new hero that picks up the sword and inherits that experience/power. However, the successes and failures of the previous hero impact the world the new hero faces. It's a little reminiscent of Rogue Legacy, but taken to a higher degree.

There are some interesting ideas at play here. Your main goal isn't take out the evil forces through violent means, but rather to capture their actions on your cell phone camera. You can use diversions to distract them and lure them to different places, or use traps to save yourself from getting caught. The devs have intentionally created this power disparity between the heroes (teens) and antagonists (adults) in order to lend more tension to the proceedings, but also to reinforce the cooperative elements by having players work together to outmaneuver and outwit the enemies.

Aside from the announcement of its release this and the trailer, there are not a lot of co-details that have been revealed at this time. Sure, there are new areas to build your farm and you can raise horses, but how many of my friends can I rope into being my volunteer workforce? For now, we're assuming the game will support the same number of players as Farming Simulator 17 (i.e., up to 16 on the PC, and up to 8 on PS4 and Xbox One).

The game was first announced last April and was shown off with the player character running around with an A.I. companion. Given the clear Dark Souls influence, which was also stated in the title's marketing materials, it seemed likely that co-op would be coming at some point, but there have been other Dark Souls-type games without any form of co-op, so it was anybody's guess. Based on what's been said thus far, it appears co-op will be limited to just one other person that you'll be able to team up with, and it's not entirely clear how you do that. The announcement stated that the game will "gives players the chance to answer requests for help from other[s]" in order to clear out difficult areas/bosses, and that the A.I. companion would remain with you. We'll likely learn more over the next several months leading up to the game's release.

The Definitive Edition skins are for Zelda and Link both, but according to Nintendo’s site the game; “...will include every map and mission, plus all 29 playable characters from both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game, along with all of the previous paid downloadable content.” This means anyone who skipped the original iterations of the game will have a great chance to jump in.

In all seriousness, good on THQ Nordic for actively working to preserve video games and bring them into a modern era. Titan Quest was my go-to action-RPG for the longest time and every so often I'd get a hankering to play it again. THQ Nordic sated that feeling when they released the Anniversary Edition last year, and then weirdly intensified it with the DLC release last month. Now, I'm waiting to play it again until it's out on the console, a phrase I never thought I'd say about it.

The game will feature four player online co-op throughout the main campaign. Each player will assume the role of one of four playable characters (the first, Aidan, is shown off in the new trailer) and each one will have his/her own unique abilities and progression via a skill tree. In a way, this doesn't sound too dissimilar to the different classes (Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost, Technician, and Fugitive) from PAYDAY 2.

This version of the game will include all three DLC expansions - "Dragon of the North," "Defiant Honour," and "Bloodshed's End" - which means players on the PC will insantly have access to all seven weapon types (sword, dual swords, spears, axes, kusarigama, odachi, and tonfas), as well as the new Ninjustu and Onmyo magic that were added via those expansions. The new missions and Guardian Spirits that were also included in the DLC will unlock naturally as players progress through and complete the main story campaign on the initial difficulty (Way of the Samurai). PC players will also get to enjoy a special helmet, the "Dharmachakra Kabuto helmet," that features a lacquered crest that is either a Wheel of Dharma, or a "device to regulate steam," depending on who you ask. Finally, similar to how Nioh on the PlayStation 4 allows players to take advantage of the PS4 Pro features by switching the graphics mode, PC players will be able to choose the "stable 60fps" 'Action Mode,' or the 4k resolution available in 'Movie Mode.'

The mode was unveiled in a recent PlayStation Blog post and finally provided some context around the separate co-op mode we've heard about for the past few months. This mode is, essentially, offline practice so you can "git gud" for the online PvP battles. You'll be able to team up with A.I. allies and go against A.I. bots in a 10-vs-10 battle, or control a Hero character and go up against a lot of foes. Much like the PvP battles, you'll be able to customize your character with a variety of weapons and abilities that you unlock (either in PvP or Arcade), so if there's a particular "build" you want to try, this is the place to do it. Along with that, though, there will be some unique "Battle Scenarios," which sound like they may be somewhat similar to the co-op challenges from Battlefront's Skirmish mode. All of this can be done with a friend locally on the consoles.

In a blog post today, the game's publisher, Chucklefish, revealed their plans for adding co-op. When the feature gets added (more on that in a bit), up to three online players will be able to join another player's game as farmhands. These farmhands will be able to "farm, mine, fight, fish, forage, marry NPCs and take part in festivals." Farmhands will also have their own inventory, which can be managed by the host when your buddy isn't connected. Also worth noting is that "certain decisions can be made only by the main player: when to sleep, when to start and end festivals, and whether to side with Joja, for instance." This will be online co-op, only, too. It's specifically stated in that post that "[l]ocal multiplayer, split-screen... are not planned at this point."
