The big countdown to E3 is still ticking away. The gaming release scene is going to be interesting up until then. This week we have vampire hunters, ooze shooters, and a game tie-in to the Fast and the Furious franchise. No. I'm not kidding.

Fast & Furious: Showdown (PC,PS3,WIIU) I didn't hear about this thing until about five minutes ago. A Let's Play video posted on Eurogamer revealed a second player can join a local game. Not much else is known about it other than that. I'm going to assume there is racing of both the fast and furious varieties. 2 player local co-op

Happy Monday, Co-Optimus faithful! This week we have two new co-op titles featuring choppas, shootas, and towas. Is it just me, or does it feel like the industry is kind of just kind of twiddling its thumbs until E3? At least we have the big Xbox reveal coming up... Sanctum 2 (PC,XBLA) The FPS/tower defense game ditches much of the strategy elements of the original Sanctum in favor of a more gun-sights-on approach to killing aliens. You can find out more in our hands-on preview. 4 player online co-op

Leviathan: Warships (PC,IOS) This turn-based strategy game features cross-platform play between PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. Build a fleet of ships and play with or against your friends. 4 player online co-op

This week we've got tropical zombies, vengeful gun-wielding zombies, a franchise tie-in game featuring a race whose main claim to fame is making up one half of the best/worst fight scene of all time, and a rather boss little heist game. 

Are you ready for another week of cooperative hacking, slashing, and shooting? Of course you are!

Sacred Citadel (PSN) This side-scrolling hacker slasher is set in the Sacred universe and will act as a sort of prequel to Sacred 3.  The brawling gameplay and fierce mounts remind me of old arcade quarter munchers like the Golden Axe series. That's a good thing. 3 player local co-op, 3 player online co-op

April has been, and will continue to be, a good month for co-op gaming. Unfortunately, the choices are a little slim this week. I guess I should say "choice," because there's only one co-op game coming out. At least it looks good. 

It's April 1st, so information on the internet won't be worth a damn today. You've been warned. But I assure you these games are coming out this week, unless the folks who run Amazon are being a bunch of jerks.

Defiance (360,PS3,PC) It's an MMO shooter with a lot of potential, plus it has a sweet Syfy TV series tie-in of the same name. If you'd like to know more you should check out our in-depth preview.  4 player online co-op, MMO

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (3DS)  It's a Pokemon game, which means more money for Nintendo, right? I missed out on this whole trend. I asked DJ, a younger member of the Co-Optimus staff, to sum it up. He tells me it's "rogue-like lite," whatever that means. There are randomly created dungeons and Pokemon. Buy it.  4 player local co-op

This week has a lot of potential on the co-op front. 360 owners will get another chapter of the Gears franchise. Capcom will once again try to convince Americans the Monster Hunter series is worth our time. PC gamers will get access to Resident Evil 6, whether they like it or not. And PS3 fans will get... well, you got God of War: Ascension last week. Go play that some more.

Gears of War: Judgment (360) The last installment of Gears for this console generation shifts the focus to Baird and Cole Train. It still has chainsaw bayonets, so it's all good.  2 player local co-op, 4 player online co-op

This week there's not a whole lot going on. Co-op is coming to one of the PlayStation 3's flagship titles, but not much else is happening on the cooperative front. If you don't have a PS3 you can catch up on your backlog. You know it's mocking you.

God of War: Ascension (PS3) A first for the series, the new "Trial of the Gods" mode allows you to play through timed waves of enemies with a friend. Earned XP will also improve your multiplayer PvP character.  2 player online co-op

Good morning co-op fans! This week we don't have the greatest selection of co-op releases, but don't worry your gorgeous little head over it. You can take all your free time and go ahead and chuck it into the abyss of simulated city planning!

There's something for everyone, assuming everyone digs ancient Chinese history, high-pitched anime brawling, or sniping Nazi zombies. Is there really anything more to gaming? Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires (PS3) If you like Dynasty Warriors games, you'll like this. If you don't like Dynasty Warriors games, you won't like this. You really should know if you like Dynasty Warriors games by now. 2 player local co-op, 2 player online co-op

This week there's not a lot happening with co-op games. The Serious Sam franchise gets the side scrolling treatment, and the PC gets a game that came out a month ago on consoles, but that's about it. There are some big games coming out, but unfortunately for us, they neglect our favorite gaming feature.

Serious Sam Double D XXL (XBLA) This 2D side-scroller has a sweet idea called a "gun stacker." It allows players to make towering weapons of destruction. Check out our Co-Op Review. We didn't love it, we didn't hate it, but it may be a serviceable distraction during this week of slim co-op pickens.  2 player local co-op

This week we have games dealing with aliens, gangsters, and more aliens. I'll let you figure out which game is which.

This week we have two games coming at you for your co-op pleasure. One deals with the societal ramifications of super karate warriors run amok in a post apocalyptic world. The other takes on the troubling problem of mutant space zombies. I'm told that neither are documentaries.
