Command and Conquer 4 Tank Rushes New ScreensAugust 12th, 2009 at 8:38 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

EA has released a set of brand new screenshots for their upcoming co-op RTS, Command and Conquer 4.  The game is set for an early 2010 release exclusively on the PC, and it features some new additions to the franchise.

While Red Alert 3 had a co-op mode, C&C 4 looks to expand on this by allowing players to choose sub-classes of commanders with unique abilities and units.  By doing this players will fall into defined roles of attack, defense and support.  There's also an XP system for every action in the game, which can be seen in some of the new screens.

Thankfully for those of you who do enjoy playing by yourselves, heathens, the game won't throw a crappy AI commander at your side to hold you back.  Instead the game will play like a traditional solo RTS.  We still recommend you bring a friend along for the ride.

When Electronic Arts added co-op gameplay to Red Alert 3, we were pretty happy with the outcome.  It wasn't perfect, but it built a good basis for co-op play in an RTS.  Now a new survey uncovered by Shacknews hints that EA is looking to take the other Command and Conquer franchise in a similar direction, this time with some added elements.

The new game is said to be the conclusion of the 15 year Tiberium Wars saga in the C&C universe.

Red Alert 3 to Feature a Co-Op CampaignFebruary 14th, 2008 at 3:27 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

That's right boys and girls, the sequel to the best real time strategy game ever (that's Red Alert 2) has just been unveiled.  And that's only the start of the good news.  The REALLY good news is the fact the game will have an entire cooperative campaign!

Red Alert 3 will mostly be a "What If?" kind of game which looks into the possibilities the first two games didn't cover. Classic technologies like Tesla coils, teleportation, and time traveling will be supplemented by new innovations like armored bears, floating island fortresses and... get this, intelligent dolphins!

Some of the interesting features that will be making its way into the game include a first ever heard of co-op campaign mode, a focus on the naval combat aspects, and all the Kalashnikov designer rifles a Command & Conquer game can hold.

More info as it becomes available!
