Aces of the Galaxy Co-Op ContestJune 10th, 2008 at 10:33 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Are you ready to try your hand at Aces of the Galaxy from Sierra?  The game plays a bit like the classic Nintendo game Starfox, though things are a bit more frantic.  It's an Xbox Live Arcade title with gorgeous visuals, twenty-five levels and best of all... co-op play for 2 players!

Our contest is simple - the first 3 People to earn the Communications Officer achievement in the game will win a free t-shirt from Sierra!  To get the achievement you simply need to complete Level 5 in a Co-Op match over Xbox LIVE.

So get to it, and when you get that achievement be sure to reply to this thread to tell us about it!

Assault Heroes 2 ContestMay 20th, 2008 at 1:18 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

We sure do love our contests around here.  So with that I present to you the latest contest from Co-Optimus.com.  Last week Assault Heroes 2 was released for the Xbox Live Arcade.  The game is a top down shooter featuring 2 player co-op play via Xbox Live.

To celebrate we are launching the Assault Heroes 2: "Scars of War" contest.

"Taking on the forces of evil with a comrade will only bestow scars of war! The first 3 players who obtain the 'Heroes Campaign' Achievement, by competing all the areas on Hard difficulty with the help of a friend, will nab an awesome Assault Heroes 2 hat."

Now I know it says 3 players - but that just wouldn't be fair now would it?  So both YOU and YOUR FRIEND will get an Assault Heroes 2 baseball cap for completing this achievement.

Once you complete this achievement reply to this thread with your gamertag(s) so we can verify the date and time.  Good luck!

Co-Optimus Store Launches, Giveaways, and New Search FeaturesMay 16th, 2008 at 12:02 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

When I'm not busy playing games with you fine folks, I'm usually busy working on adding site features and improvements.  Today I bring you not one, but two site additions.

First up is our dedicated co-op games store.  This store is our set of referral links into every co-op game listed on this site.  Whether it's buying a game new through Amazon, or buying a preowned copy from Gamefly - every purchase made through the store's links help keep this site afloat!

As a kick off promotion we will be giving away ANY game listed in the store ($59.99 or less) to one site member.  We'll also be giving away a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate to one member.  How do you enter?  Simple - just check out the store and look for the "promo code" at the bottom of items.  Reply to this post/thread with that code and you are entered!

Finally I've completely revamped our search engine.  You can now search articles, features and games.  We've even integrated a Google site search and overhauled our advanced search queries.

Thanks for visiting Co-Optimus!

Play Co-Op Game, Win PrizeMay 12th, 2008 at 3:21 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

MyGamerCard.net is hosting a contest for Assault Heroes 2 which comes out this week.  So what is this contest all about?  It's simple.  Go to MGC, sign in or up for an account and then play Assault Heroes 2 when it's released.  You'll automatically be entered to win one of fifteen 4000 Microsoft Point Cards, or better yet, a grand prize of 20,000 MS points.

If you haven't used MyGamerCard, it's a site dedicated to Xbox 360 game tracking and ranking with lists of leaderboards for specific games by gamerscore, overall leaderboards, and more.  Of course, the most important feature of the site is a customizable gamercard that you can place anywhere on the net.   I'd love to see a Co-Optimus themed one, how bout you?

Co-Optimus Giveaway: Rocketmen: Axis of Evil for the PS3March 12th, 2008 at 7:33 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

You've seen our review...now play the game for yourself!

We have not 1, not 2, not 4, but 5 codes to give away for the Playstation Network version of Rocketmen: Axis of Evil from Capcom.

How do you win?  Simply reply to this post and we'll draw the winners soon!  A very special thanks to Capcom for helping out with this!  And they said we don't give Playstation 3 owners any love.

I was going to tell you about this sweet contest for the upcoming co-optorific Bionic Commando: ReArmed, but don't bother I've already got the contest in the bag. See that sweet level design there. Jealous? Yeah, that's right, that's my entry and I'm totally gonna win this thing.

Capcom's really into this whole Bionic Commando thing and I couldn't be happier. Now they've just announced a cool little contest for designing your very own "challenge level" level in the upcoming ReArmed arcade title for Xbox Live and PSN. All you've got to do is draw a totally awesome level, i.e. the one I've already done (don't copy it, I know you want to).

All the rules are available here, as well as a diagram of the different components to build your level out of. If you win all you get is your level in the game when it comes out. The contest began Wednesday, February 27th, and ends Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Good luck.
