The Sega Genesis Mini 2 and the Japanese model, the Sega Mega Drive Mini 2, launched a few weeks ago. Sega's latest mini console features more than 50 games, including several never-before-released bonus games. The Japanese console includes a slightly different lineup of games and a smaller controller. Sega also sells a mini Mega CD 2/Sega CD 2 for cosmetic use with the original or second Genesis Mini. When Sega announced the Mega Drive Mini 2 for the Japanese market at the beginning of June, we wondered when an announcement for the American market would be coming. That finally happened, as the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is now official and already available for preorder! The Genesis Mini 2 and Mega Drive Mini 2 will each have shared and unique games, including co-op classics like Rolling Thunder 2 (US) and Final Fight CD (Japan).

The June E3 season came and went without Arcade1Up making any big home arcade cabinet announcements. Arcade1Up kicked offer July with a bang, though, first launching its long-promised Dragon's Lair cabinet, and now announcing three new machines. Today, two new Capcom Legacy cabinets have gone up for preorder that feature Captain Commando and plenty more co-op arcade classics, and a third cabinet features Ms. Pac-Man and other Namco titles.

Capcom Arcade Stadium launched on Switch earlier this year before eventually arriving on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The collection itself is a free download and includes one game (1943), with the remaining games sold as DLC, for a total of 32 classic arcade games. Making sense of those DLC packs and the scope of the collection can be daunting, so here's a full games list sorted by title, release date, and co-op features.

Last night we dusted off the arcade machine, pulled out a pocket full of (virtual) quarters and checked out the latest nostalgia release from Capcom. The Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle is a beat em up fan's dream featuring seven classic Capcom games, two of which, have never been released on a console or PC.

If you live in the U.S., you've probably been looking forward to today for a few weeks as Monday is Labor Day, which means three-day weekend! In case you were wondering what shenanigans you might get into during the long break, the folks over at Humble Bundle have compiled a selection of Capcom games for the PlayStation 3 and 4, while Microsoft is featuring an "Activision Franchise Sale" for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

You can take your immersive graphics, tantalizing story lines and abundance of polygons and cram them all into a giant sack and sink them into the ocean.  Give me a side scrolling beat-em up any day.  The Xbox One does not have that many of these to its name, but that is being cured by the likes of Final Fight: Double Impact getting the backwards compatible treatment. 

Maybe you've been looking at picking up some Capcom titles on Xbox Live Arcade? You might want to wait until later this spring. The rather blandly-named Capcom Digital Collection is headed to retail release in late March. The  disc bundles eight of Capcom's better downloadable offerings, several of which are co-op. 1942: Joint Strike, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Final Fight: Double Impact (pictured above), Flock!, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 all feature co-op gameplay; for details, check out the links. Rounding out the set are two very popular games that lack co-op but are still pretty awesome: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.  

This week, several Capcom and Ubisoft Xbox Live Arcade games are on sale for 33-50 percent off. Naturally there are co-op deals to be had, including Final Fight: Double Impact, Interpol, and Outland – all on sale for 400 Microsoft Points each.

Capcom Arcade is a multi-game app for iPhone and iPad that lets players sample and purchase classic Capcom titles. The latest addition to the app: Final Fight, one of the all-time classic co-op beat-em-ups.

Final Fight: Double Impact is on sale this week on Xbox Live Arcade bringing it's normal 800  price down to 400 .  Half the price for double the game!  Not a bad deal for a title we gave a solid 3.5 out of 5 on.
