Xbox Live Co-Op Night for June: H.A.W.X.June 04th, 2009 at 8:42 AM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

June marks our 1 year anniversary for the official Xbox Live Co-Op Nights!  Thats' right, one year ago we kicked off an idea of getting gamers together to play co-op with Halo 3, and now 13 co-op nights later (we had a bonus one in there) we're still going strong!

This month we're taking to the skies in Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and it's four player drop-in and drop-out co-op.

Amazon is having a Gold Box day for Xbox 360 games.  That means lots of great games at super cheap prices for a short window of time.  We'll update this throughout the day, but I've bolded the clues which I think will lead to co-op titles.

Battlefield Report: May 21, 2021May 21st, 2009 at 6:40 PM by Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin

Welcome back, soldier! This month we're shaking loose the ground-pounder mantra in favor of a pair of wings...and afterburners. Everyone thinks of carbines and claymores when the word "tactical" is used -- Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. shows us squad-based action with bigger and better toys of destruction.

HAWX DLC Adds more Planes, Less BugsApril 24th, 2009 at 12:42 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Tom Clancy, or rather Ubisoft, has released a fresh content pack for the four player co-op aerial shooter HAWX.   The pack is called the European Assault DLC and feature 6 planes for $4.99 on the PS3 or 400 .   These planes can then be used on your co-op missions to destroy things like: tanks, planes, stadiums, and canaries.

Along with the release of that content pack comes screenshots of upcoming content packs.  Joystiq snagged the details of the Russian Falcons pack and the US Eagles pack with plenty of screenshots to wet your aerial appetite.

Finally Ubisoft tweeted about title updates and patches for all versions of the games fixing numerous bugs.  Hit up this link to get the deets.

A Wingman for Troubled H.A.W.X. PilotsApril 20th, 2009 at 12:22 PM by Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin

A little while back, CinemaBlend broke the news that Ubisoft had set up a tips and tricks website for Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. gamers.

The website has mission walkthroughs, handling tips for each aircraft, info on how to unlock weapon sets, and more. Simply log in with the information that you used to link your copy of H.A.W.X. or Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

H.A.W.X. isn't really that difficult to begin with, but it never hurts to have help. Think of this as the Devon Miles to your KITT.

Here Are Your HAWX Title Update FixesMarch 29th, 2009 at 10:17 PM by Marc "DjinniMan" Allie

We are big fans of Twitter here at Co-Optimus.  The site itself has an account, and so do most of the staff, including myself.  Many game companies have latched onto using Twitter as well, and often the latest news hits Twitter first.

One example of this is Ubisoft, who just announced some of the fixes for the upcoming title update (AKA patch) for aerial arcader HAWX.  Here they are:

Xbox 360:

FIXED - Game freezes on “press START to continue” screen under certain circumstances
FIXED - Certain planes still have locked weapon packs when reaching level 40
FIXED - Leaderboards updating functionality problems
FIXED – Online problems (no search results, disconnects)

PS3:

FIXED – Certain planes still have locked weapon packs when reaching level 40
FIXED – Leaderboards updating functionality problems
FIXED – Online problems (no search results, disconnects)

How appropriate that a networking tool related to birds would give you the latest info about a high flying video game!  (Yeah, that's stretching metaphors a bit too far, isn't it?)

Three Ways HAWX Can Improve Your Life, and Three Ways You Can Improve HAWXMarch 13th, 2009 at 5:05 AM by Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin

The buzz about Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has been going on for some time now, and it continues today with a round-up of headlines that we hadn't been able to squeeze in earlier without making you utterly sick of seeing jet fighters on the Co-Optimus front page. The above image probably doesn't help the cause...

Nevertheless! Once you've finally cooled down your afterburners and decided to give the game a rest, you can still adorn your Xbox NXE dashboard with the H.A.W.X. Premium Theme for 250 MS Points.

And when you're back on air patrol, take a gander at the incredibly detailed landscapes that were scanned by the latest and greatest $100-million GeoEye satellite. GeoEye was also heavily involved in data collection for Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, but not to this extent. Isn't technology wonderful?

But the really hardcore H.A.W.X. gamers accept the coolest life-changing challenge of all...

Tom Clancy's HAWX Deal - $46.99March 09th, 2009 at 3:56 PM by Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

Looking to get a deal on Tom Clancy's HAWX, the 4 player co-op aerial shooter?  Well you are in luck.  Amazon is currently running a special on the Xbox 360 version of the game for only $46.99 with free shipping.  For whatever reason the PS3 version is not on sale.

Tom Clancy's HAWX was released last week on both consoles while the PC version releases next week.  We'll have a full co-op review of the title Wednesday - but we can't promise the deal will be around that long!

Two Free Fighter Jets for H.A.W.X.March 06th, 2009 at 10:19 AM by Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin

Similar to the classic "Streets" map remake that was unlockable for Rainbow Six Vegas 2, two fighter jets are free to unlock by simply linking your Gamertag or PSN ID to Ubi.com via the in-game menu.

Ubisoft posted easy-to-follow instructions on their forum this morning, then spread the word via Twitter. You can unlock the XA-20 Razorback -- the fictional plane that first appeared in EndWar -- and the historical Saab 35 Draaken.

Click "Read More" for the full instructions, another screenshot, and the source link...
