In a recent interview with Videogamer.com, Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer Bioware had offered the possibility of co-op in future games. Western RPG's are becoming more interesting with co-op, mimicking the popularity of MMO's in a controlled environment. We are already well aware that they support social gaming, so this would be the next logical step to us. When asked about the possibility of co-op in future titles, BioWare co-founder and CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka replied:
"Sure, we would consider it. We haven't announced anything on that front yet, but those are interesting ideas. They could make a great gameplay experience. Whether we'll do them or not remains to be decided."

In an interview with VG247.com, Gearbox's Mikey Neumann confirmed that a sequel to Borderlands is a distinct possibility. In fact, it's a "no brainer."
"Yes, I can probably confirm that there’s a chance of a Borderlands 2. I mean, with anything, especially a new IP, if people want more and you can make more, and everybody can make money and do good business there, it obviously makes really good sense to do that," said Neumann. "Obviously nothing so far is planned. We’re working on DLC. We haven’t really had any talks about a sequel, other than water cooler talk.."
With how well the reviews have been, how many people we've seen playing the game online, and just how addictive the co-op formula is, it seems Gearbox has hit gold here. I'll be curious to see the sales numbers. I mean..after all the game was sent to die.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hit stores yesterday, and already the internet is abuzz with excitement, and people mysteriously skipping class or work to play. The sales from these excited gamers will be celebrated by military veterans, as publisher Activision-Blizzard's "Call of Duty Endowment" (CODE) will be donating $1 million toward boosting employment for unemployed Vets.

Despite releasing today to retail outlets and even requiring Valve's Steam service to play, Modern Warfare 2 will not be playable until Thurdsday at 12AM if you pre-ordered via Steam.
We're not quite sure what's going on here, but after the whole Left 4 Dead 2 demo fiasco we're beginning to lose faith in consistent delivery of a timely product on steam. Luckily if you did pick up the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, despite your trepidation to certain decisions, the game is still playable. You may have to wait a little longer for some co-op action if your buddy decided to go the complete digital route.

A few weeks ago Capcom offered the community a choice - Do you want Resident Evil 5: Alternate Edition as DLC or a stand alone disc. The results are in and the decisions was unanimous. I know, you know the result, you read the headline.
RE5: Alternate Edition will be available this spring on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as downloadable content. The two hour co-op content takes Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine on the assault of Ozwell Spencer's horror-filled castle, an event that was three years prior to the game itself. PlayStation 3 owners will get an alternative control scheme as well that supports the upcoming PS3 motion controller.
Did you vote in the poll? Did your choice win?

Earlier this year Midway, makers of such classic games as Mortal Kombat and Smash T.V., went bankrupt and folded. Pieces of the studio were bought up, and rights to certain games went this way and that. Lost in the whole mess though is something of a disappointment, as we've found out the original creators of the classic co-op game Smash T.V. were working on a sequel.
The game was into the actual development stages, with 3D prototypes available. Smash TV was known for it's high paced and bloody co-op action as players faced rooms of enemies in a game show environment. Mark Turmell, the game's co-creator thinks we'll still see it someday, with the popularity of twin stick shooters on XBLA and PSN being at a high. Warner Bros. now owns the rights, which they bought for 400 toasters and five 2600" TVs.

While EVGA has had a CO-OP line of video cards for a while now, their latest edition to the dual GPU lineup is something a bit unique. Instead of allowing SLI on a single card like most of the other co-op cards, the GTX 275 CO-OP uses a GTX 275 GPU for graphics and a GTS 250 GPU for PhysX support. PhysX allows the GPU to do advance physics processing and effects.
The advantage of this in this case, is it allows EVGA to make a cheaper card with PhysX support, and not force people to get a much more expensive full dual GPU card. Still at $350 it's no small chunk of change. I vote they bundle in a solid co-op game with PhysX support like Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.

If you happen to be in the new Xbox 360 Dashboard Preview Program, you've already got access to Halo Waypoint. That's good news, right? Well I have better news for you. The Waypoint team just released the schedule, starting today, with all the content that's on tap.
The really good news? You'll be the first people to see the premiere episode of Halo Legends called "The Babysitter," which is on tap this Saturday. That's the only day you'll be able to see it for FREE, and only on Waypoint. If you didn't know, Halo Legends is a brand new anime series set in the Halo universe.
We think you should keep an eye out on next week's Waypoint schedule, because you just might see something that looks familiar.

If you picked up Painkiller: Resurrection on the PC last week with hopes of glorious cooperative stake gunning in your head, you may have been disappointed to find no menu option for co-op. Rest assured though, the game does have co-op support, it's just a little ridiculous as to how you have to start it.
"To play a coop game you have to start a dedicated server with the tool provided together with your game. Pull in the campaign maps from C9L01 to C9L06, choose FFA and start the game. You can also add / remove bots accompanying you there. We will add a more convenient ingame coop menu with the next update "
That's from a JoWood representative on the official message boards. Were you expecting a nice simple solution for co-op? Sorry, none to be found here. Thankfully JoWood confirms they are working on a "more convenient way of accessing co-op" in a future update.
Gee thanks.

If you're a fan of Steam and happen to be running Microsoft's recent Windows 7 operating system, you're in for a treat. The latest Steam update adds full native Windows 7 support for features like jump lists and process bars.
What does that mean? Seen above you'll have quick access to recent games, mostly co-op ones in my case, quick online tasks as well as one click access to all the tabs. The best part is Steam doesn't need to be running to take advantage of these features. Finally while Steam updates, the task bar icon will show the progress in real time. Suddenly your Left 4 Dead and Dawn of War 2 sessions got a whole lot easier.
While you're updating Steam, don't forget to join our Steam Group!
