If you've been browsing through PlayStation Store you may have noticed a few rough editions.  Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, and the sequel, Kane & Lynch: Dog Days, are now available for download.  Both of the games received mixed reviews, but they're pretty good with a co-op partner.  If you haven't played them yet, you may want to embrace your inner criminal and take one of these for a spin.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is priced at $14.99 (It's $19.99 on the Xbox 360 downloadable service).  It supports two player local co-op and four player online co-op. Kane & Lynch: Dog Days will cost you $19.99 ($39.99 on Xbox 360) and it suppots two player local and online co-op.  

The first batch of DLC is out now for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days.  Packed in its loot bag is a ton of goodies including maps, weapons, and masks for your co-op multiplayer experience.  Previously most of this content was available as exclusive pre-order bonuses.  The good news is this should add quite a bit of content to both Kane and Lynch 2's arcade mode and multiplayer online modes.  The bad news is there's $11 worth of DLC here.

Kane and Lynch are back and they're heading to Shanghai China to complete a big job. But when things turn sour it's up to our co-op duo to get out alive. Our full review of the game's enhanced co-op mode, online multiplayer and more is right ahead. You might want to bring some Dramamine.

It seems it's been a while since a major co-op release has hit.  Sure we've had plenty of downloadable titles, but by my count, StarCraft 2 was the last big release over a month ago.  And before that Crackdown 2.  So it's good to see Mr. Kane and Mr. Lynch lighting up our summer with their gritty and violent shooter Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3  and PC.

We've covered the game plenty up to this point - trailers, screens, and even a hands on preview.  You'll have two player co-op both online and off throughout the campaign as well as the online Fragile Alliance mode for 5 players.

Look, this ain't yo mamma's co-op game.  There's no holding hands to pull your buddy up to a higher ledge, no working together because this metal gate is to heavy for Mr. Buffman to lift by himself, and there's definitely no fist bumps.  This is Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days and the co-op tactics consist of shooting guys in the face...together...shooting exploding objects...together...and shooting...well everything...together.

Sure he may not be in peak physical, or mental, condition, but Lynch is one of the more interesting character to come around the world of videogames in sometime.  The feedback from the community echoed that statement, IO Interactive listened, and decided to focus on him for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days.

Today we've added the second developer diary from IO focusing on their upcoming PC, 360 and PS3 action game.  The diary not only focuses on Lynch, but talks about the game's explosive mix of psychotic action and characters.  

We've got a ton a Kane and Lynch 2 news today for you, so strap yourself in for one intense ride.  In fact, intense is proclamation for the game.  We've used it before and now the team at IO Interactive are using it in their latest developer diary describing their goals for the game.  Number one on the list?  You guessed it  - an intense experience.  The team also describes how they really focused on community feedback from the first game to improve things like the cover system, AI, co-op and more.  

IO isn't the only one today describing the game as intense, as a brand new preview from Eurogamer has hit the next with a near final build of the game.  It's an incredibly glowing preview that truly sets the stage for what might be a surprise co-op hit this fall.  And while Eurogamer never actually uses the word intense, I think the following excerpt says it all.

IO Interactive has revealed the achievement and trophy list for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days.  It's a very co-op friendly list with 5 specific co-op achievements and trophies and over 600 Gamerscore worth of story based achievements earnable in co-op.   The remaining score and trophies come from Kane and Lynch 2's online multiplayer modes including Arcade, Under Cover Cop, and Cops and Robbers.

In other news, the previously exclusive demo for the game is out now on PlayStation 3 and will be released this week on the Xbox 360 and PC.

If their actions in the first game are anything to go by, Kane and Lynch's new release date is not for good behavior.  Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days will now hit the shops with a hail of gunfire a whole week early on the 17th August in the US and 20th in Europe.  The 'You Tube' style  visuals are already splitting opinions, but if the game can contain the same amount of insane action and adult curse words as the first installment it should be worth a look.  To celebrate the early release date check out this new trailer for the game.

IO Interactive have just released a brand new set of screenshots of the upcoming two player co-op game, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.  The screens showcase the game's relentless action and gritty atmosphere, something players experienced in the exclusive demo on the Xbox 360 last week.

Speaking of the demo we got a few stats regarding it, most notably, how much money has been stolen in the game's Fragile Alliance multiplayer mode.  So far 27 billion dollars have been jacked from various financial institutions in the game, quite the impressive take.  Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days releases the end of August.

Our Co-Optimus crystal ball left out one major detail regarding the Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days exclusive Xbox 360 demo - apparently it does not include co-op. At all.

That's kind of troubling to us. For a game that is supposedly built from the ground up for co-op, you'd think that IO Interactive would want to give the co-op crowd a taste of what's to come. Even more hurtful is the competitive multiplayer support prevalent in the demo. Ouch, y'all...maybe you should have dropped the "exclusive" adjective and used a more appropriate synonym: limited.

Xbox 360 owners have a chance to get in on the heist this week with the Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days exclusive demo. All you have to do is sign up at the official site. There's no official word yet on the actual drop date, but the demo will include one level from the campaign, some Arcade Mode action, and sneak preview access to the Undercover Cop and Cops & Robbers multiplayer modes.

It's true that this early taste is coming to Xbox 360 only, but Square Enix has confirmed PlayStation 3 and PC demos for future release. Leave a comment if you get your access pass, and let us know what you think of the game.

We just got a brand new trailer for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days showcasing some of the hell the duo will be going through in their 48 hour period in Shanghai.  Called "She Better be Worth It," the trailer showcases the intensity and grittiness of the upcoming co-op action title. 

Along with the trailer came word of the game's preorder bonus, available at Gamestop.  Preordering the game there will yield you an exclusive multiplayer map and a deadly collection of weapons to use in the game's four multiplayer modes.  Of course that means you'll actually have to buy it from Gamestop and we all know how we feel about exclusive content.
