LittleBIGPlanet is a natural choice for Co-Op Casual Friday. You'd be hard pressed to find a game more fun, enjoyable, and still appropriate for everyone, from the very young child who's never held a controller before to a seasoned gamer who has played it all.

Let's hope Rorshach's mask moves!
We've got a nifty little update for you regarding LittleBIGPlanet, recently released in a Game of the Year edition. First of all, Sony is giving away free codes that allow you to download the Norse Mythology pack for the game. Should be fun to recreate "What's Opera, Doc?" in LittleBIGPlanet form. (What, I'm the only one who had that idea?)
If you'd rather pay for your Sackcontent, well, look no further than this Thursday. A Watchmen costume pack is coming to the PSN. No price is available yet, but we're hoping these little Watchmen goodies aren't as overpriced as other recent downloadable efforts. I predict about 4 hours before someone creates a Watchmen LBP level that's better than The End Is Nigh.

Two releases hit the shelves this week. The first is a little game featuring some indie band called The Beatles, coming in various packages, with premium instruments, standard instruments, and even without instruments at all. Of course, individual guitars are available too. The second release is the Game of the Year edition of popular co-op title LittleBigPlanet. This edition has lots of previous DLC content included, and also a dozen custom levels made by fans. Plenty of good co-op action out there this week!

We couldn't have said it better ourselves
Remember when we told you about LittleBigPlanet PSP's co-op? Well unfortunately, we were misled. LittleBigPlanet on the PSP will not feature the co-op that we know and love in the cute little big world.

Adorable silver haired antagonist Sackboy not included.
In case you hadn't experienced the adorable cuteness that is Sackboy yet, next month might be a good time. One of the finest co-op titles available for the PS3 last year is getting a feature packed rerelease. LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition is coming on September 8.
With Little Big Planet, more than just gamers play together!
Playstation 3 and PSP have hinted at cross game synergy since the PS3's release. We've seen content transfer between the systems with the likes of PlayStation 1 downloads, and the PSP is said to work remotely with some PS3 games, which I can't seem to get to work. What we haven't really seen yet are games tailored to use this feature to enhance gameplay and add bonuses. That will change with the upcoming PSP release of Little Big Planet, uniting both versions of the game through something called "Cross-talk."

A rather spectacular announcement has been made over at the Playstation blog. Charming co-op platformer LittleBigPlanet can now claim over one million creations. Yes, you read that right, since last November when the game was released, a thousand thousand levels have been uploaded by the user community. That's hard to think about, but here's a quote to put it into perspective...
Amazing, isn’t it? Just think, this means that a new level has been published roughly every 21 seconds since LittleBigPlanet launched.
Back before the game was released, it rode a wave of hype that seemed impossible for it to live up to. Launch delays, a last minute controversy, and, to put it mildly, a few early network issues upset many (including us). Still, the game is quite unique and the creative tools are incredibly deep. It's good to see that so many fans have taken the time to create and share so we can play. Anyone have a particular level you'd recommend for some great co-op?

Co-op gamers really enjoy Little Big Planet - slapping friends, building levels, and getting additional unlockables in co-op specific areas. Little Big Planet has since gone portable, and we've taken a look at about 2 minutes of PSP play time. While carrying over the things that made Little Big Planet wonderful, the portable version seems to be lacking a few of the key control components. You're still able to build levels through co-op, and play together - which are both important aspects that make Little Big Planet what it is.
However, co-op or not, this game on the PSPGo just looks uncomfortable.

There's still very little details about LittleBigPlanet for the PSP, we aren't exactly sure what it will contain. And while the latest screens only show one SackBoy, it's be pretty much video game suicide to not include co-op in the next incarnation of this title.
So far all we have to go on is this quote from the official release:
"Imagine a whole world where you could play, explore and create whatever you like - and imagine that you could take that world with you wherever you go."
I'm imagining it, and I'm imagining it with co-op.

User created content is always something to look at in games, especially ones with only 8 levels in the story mode. Little Big Planet has taken the user created content one step further by adding an entire community behind it. Building levels co-op style with your buddies, then sharing them online has helped Little Big Planet hit an impressive milestone. Media Molecule has recently announced that Little Big Planet has over 600,000 user created levels!
“Since its launch last October, LittleBigPlanet has made a tremendous impact on the game industry and overall gaming community by allowing players from across the globe to interact through the LittleBigPlanet online community via shared levels and objects, rankings and user comments”
Enjoy entire Classic platforming games remade, to recreated movie trailers, and even some things you might not expect, that have put the PS3 to great use. Celebrate Little Big Planet's 600,000 user created levels by using them, and make some levels with your friends to contribute to the mix!
