Ladies and gentlemen, prepare your wallets for monetary departure. Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and commence the downloading. Amazon is holding a "Digital Games Mayhem" sale offering deep discounts on downloadable PC games both new and old. Want that new Star Trek game after catching the movie this weekend? It's only $25. How about Saints Row The Third with all the DLC for $12.50.
Magicka for mobile tablets might not sound like a logical next step for the franchise, but as soon as you try Paradox Interactive's Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet, you'll be all like "NICE". Recently released for iPad and Android tablets, the touch screen incarnation of Magicka features all the same spell creation, goblin frying, shield making, meteor summoning elements from the PC release reworked to feel a bit like Castle Crashers. It even preserves online co-op play, allowing up to four players to head out and "accidentally" burn each other to death in the heat of battle.
Paradox Interactive have announced that they are continuing their long standing tradition of publishing games with the name Magicka in the title. The next game in the series is something a bit different, as it takes our robed wizards into the mobile world. Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet is a brand new side scrolling game featuring four player online co-op for iPad and Android tablets.
It's kind of hard for me to believe it, but Magicka (the quirky, and hilarious, craft-your-own-spell RPG) turns two next week. Time certainly flies. To celebrate, Paradox is offering not only a free weekend for gamers, but also free DLC for players who already own the game. During this weekend, you'll be able to download and play the game for absolutely free. It's currently available on Steam, and the free play will extend until Sunday 1pm PDT. The game is also discounted down to $2.49 from $10 until Monday.
Steam is holding a sale to celebrate Halloween and there's plenty of titles that are being offered at 50% to 75% off. Let's see some of the highlights.
Magicka was released almost two years ago and despite a troubled launch the game got solid reviews and then a steady stream of both free and premium DLC. Today the game continues to get content to keep folks coming back for the four player co-op spell weaving mayhem. The new content is called Dungeons & Daemons and looks to be themed in the realm of dungeon crawlers with plenty of dark underground passages and of course...barrels. Also included with the content are new monsters and obstacles.
The robed wizards of Magicka will not be attending San Diego Comic Con. They had a run in with a Necromancer from their "Other Side of the Coin" DLC. The following video may be the last we see of the mustard wizard. As you can see from the images above and below, the video is not lacking in the ball-gag and gold-trimmed...
Remember that one time in Magicka, when you accidentally killed everyone? Get ready to do a lot more of that. New DLC launches today. Embrace your evil side in "The Other Side of the Coin." This evil expansion allows you to play as Alucart and his Necromancer lackeys. Your mission is to make life miserable for humans, dwarves, and elves. Sounds simple enough. Watch the evil-doers in the following video.
Are you sick of playing as a good guy wizard who is constantly killing his own friends (accidentally)? Why not play as a bad guy vampire and kill everything, including your own Necromancers (sort-of accidentally)? A new Magicka content pack will give you that opportunity. "The Other Side of the Coin" will let you turn your deadly magic upon puny humans, repugnant dwarves, and tree-hugging elves. Bring a friend or three and set the world on fire. Or freeze it. Or whatever. It's your choice.
Amazon is having a huge PC download sale today to celebrate Valentine's Day and what better way to do that than to offer plenty of awesome co-op titles for super cheap! Highlights of the deals include Borderlands: GOTY edition for $6.99, Dungeon Defenders for $2.99 and the Magicka Collection for $4.99.
While people could have stuck around a bit longer during our recent Co-Op Night (bunch of sleepy heads!), Magicka continues to be one of the more popular games on Steam. The DLC alone has sold over 4 million pieces on top of the main game's 1.3 million sales (I'm sure the Steam holiday sale prices didn't hurt). Naturally, Swedish fish developer Paradox Inreractive is following up with another expansion: 'The Other Side of the Coin.' The twist: it lets players take on the role of the bad guys for a change. That's all I need to know - I've been wanting to beat up on the robed do-gooders for a while now.
Are you looking to add a little Magick to your in-game life? If so, join us this Friday, January 13th at 8PM Central, for a co-op romp through the world of Magicka. If Steam didn't force-feed you this game yet, you should really consider picking it up before Friday. This $10 title earned a score of 4.5/5 and a runner-up position in our 2011 Co-Op Game of the Year Awards, so you can be sure it is well worth the purchase.
One gamer bursts forth from the primordial goo of the console wars and evolves into a higher being - a PC gamer. Nah, I'm kidding. It's all the same. Or is it?!
If you're like many of us here at Co-Optimus, you can't get enough Magicka. Or maybe you got enough, moved onto something else, and decided you wanted more. Then I've got some good news for you! "The Stars Are Left" DLC is available on Steam right now for $5.99. You can see all of the details on it right here. Or you can just treat yourself to a nice Magicka bundle for $24.99. It includes the game as well as a plethora of DLC.
Sure, you could buy some co-op game for the PS3, Xbox 360, or (insert other generic console here)
