While the 2009 Tokyo Game Show has wrapped up for the year, there was one more bit of lingering co-op related news to come out of the Makuhari Messe convention center.  PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, the Playstation Portable version of the enjoyable, co-op tower defense title released in early 2008, will be available this Thursday, October 1.  What better way to celebrate a new month than with a slightly new co-op title?  PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe includes all the content of the original title, the Encore DLC pack, new monsters, new stages, unlockable bonuses, and (best of all) 2 player local and online co-op.  A trailer for the game, as well as an interview with Dylan Cuthbert of Q Games and Jeff Rubenstein from the Playstation Blog, can be found after the break.

PixelJunk has been a busy topic lately, what with the announcement of PixelJunk Shooter for the Playstation Network, and now the PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe game will be coming to the PSP while sporting useful online co-op. Not quite a port, but not quite an original title, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe on the PSP will give players 4 player online co-op through a lobby system new to the PSP. Many may remember how the original only had local co-op, so this is already a nice change.

Pixel Junk Monsters on the PSN was a solid co-op tower defense game.  Now Sony and the Pixel Junk team are bringing the game on the road in Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe for the PSP.

The portable game will add ten new stages to the mix as well as new enemies, music tracks and special bonus features.  It even includes the Pixel Junk Monsters Encore DLC pack.  Look for the full game to be released sometime this fall.
