We've been aware for - some time now - that the development of a no-brainer sequel to the super fun PlayStation Network title PixelJunk Shooter is already under way. Today Sony offered up a bubbly new logo, two screenshots, and a hint at more forthcoming details.

The rumors are true, as the PlayStation Blog has officially confirmed Q-Game's Pixel Junk Shooter will be released on December 10th on the PlayStation Network. The two player local co-op game will cost $9.99 and feature slick 1080p visuals.

The latest in the Pixel Junk series from Q Games, Shooter tasks players with exploring underground caverns filled with lava, water, and dangerous enemies.
The Pixel Junk team has announced their next PlayStation Network game, one that was previously named Pixel Junk 1-4, has gotten a name and will be getting an upcoming demo. After taking fan entries, and receiving almost 10,000 of them, the official name of the game is Pixel Junk Shooter.
