Designer board games are getting quite popular these days, to the point where we’re starting to see quality digital adaptations of them. Though co-op board games are a popular genre (check out Marc’s Tabletop Co-op series), surprisingly few of these games have been adapted from their cardboard forms. Mysterium bucks this trend, being a ...

Cross-Platform Play, LAN Support, and More Confirmed for Gears of War 4Jason Love

Along with the PC couch co-op, the developer also stated that cross-platform play for the campaign and Horde mode would be supported between the PC and Xbox One versions. So, if you've got the Windows 10 edition and your best gaming buddy prefers the Xbox One, you can still take out those Swarm foes together. Finally, both Xbox One and PC will also feature offline LAN play, up to two players for the campaign and up to five for Horde. While that particular feature is fairly common for the PC, it's surprising to see it for the Xbox One.

Since its release last summer, Rocket League has blown up in a way that no one really saw coming. As of this past February, the title has reached a player-base of 12 million and grown in its eSports "phenom" status. It's even grown to a point where Microsoft has tossed out the idea of doing cross-platform with the PlayStation 4.

Aside from the preview trailer (see below), there aren't a whole lot of details about what all the action of the game entails. The developers put up a post on the European PS Blog that talks a little about things here and there, but those are more broad strokes than minute-to-minute gameplay. Still, there are a couple of ideas, like the massive Titan from which you can harvest resources and being able to transition to new worlds via portals, that look interesting enough to make it stand out from other titles in this genre. It also appears the game will pull in mechanics from some MMOs, like EVE Online, where you can do more than just build voxel contraptions; you can become a merchant or a craftsman-for-hire.

Super Dungeon Bros will not only allow you and up to four of your friends play online on the same platform of choice - either Xbox One, Windows 10, PC, PS4, or Mac- it will also let you play with friends on different platforms. Planning to buy it on the PS4 but your friend swears by the PC master race? No problem. Going to pick up Windows 10 (you early adopter you) and this game while your buddy is still putzing around on his Xbox One? That's fine! Picking it up on a Mac? ... well, good for you! I'm sure one of your pals will as well!

We all know Sonic has been about speed since his conception into gaming. His games are made to be played with his top speed always being achieved. But after we started to play the game for a bit, we soon realized weren’t receiving the same sort of satisfaction we got from older titles. We both agreed that there is still more polishing needed here before we see it as a clear contender for other Wii U titles.

For anyone who has played the XBLA version of Spelunky with multiple people will understand the frustration co-op can lead to. Something as simple as falling down a shaft or being pursued by aggressive enemies can send players running all over the place, leading to full on chaos and death (gets annoying really fast too). Spelunky forced all co-op players to follow along with Player -1, as the camera only focused on them. This was indicated by a small flag sticking out of their back. If players stayed off-screen for two long, they’d eventually be insta-killed and turned into a ghostly follower. Only when Player-1 met his death could the camera possessor be passed off to someone else.

It's been several years since we've seen anything major happen in the N universe. The minimalist take on the classic arcade platformer by Metanet Software started as a PC downloadable game then spawned a copy of itself called N+  for XBLA, PSP and Nintendo DS. Now the studio is working on a proper sequel, N++, but has released a nice little update for N to keep us screaming in frustration. Ladies and gentlemen, N v2.0 has arrived. And it has co-op!

Bloody Trapland is a new indie co-op platformer with a title that fits like a pair of bloody gloves. Spikes and sawblades, lasers and additional spikes. And blood. Every time a player dies more of the red stuff is sprayed on the scenery. The blood is everywhere, and it just keeps flowing.

Well hello there. When last we met, we introduced you to roughly half of the cast of Double Fine's upcoming co-op adventure, The Cave. This included the Hillbilly, the Monk, the Scientist, and the Twins. Each of these protagonists is on a quest of some sort, though it would appear that not all may be as it seems. The latest character trailer has come out and we're introduced to the rest of the possible heroes.
