We really enjoyed Sacred 2: Fallen Angel last year on the PC and earlier this year on the consoles. Despite the fact the game's developer, Ascaron, has gone belly up - sales were solid enough to warrant an expansion pack called Ice and Blood.
The expansion pack will add the Dragon Mage character as well as two brand new areas in the world of Sacred 2 to explore. Those areas come complete with brand new quests and items to complete and unlock. The new items are for all existing characters as well as the new Dragon Mage character. Of course all of the content will be available in the game's four player cooperative mode as well.
The add-on is currently only going to be available for the PC version of the game and will be available via download or at retail stores. Look for it before the end of the year.

A little known feature of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel on the PC is the ability to integrate with Dell's LightFX keyboard lighting system. The LightFX system backlit Dell's now defunct XPS laptop line with numerous colors, while the LightFX SDK allowed developers to control these based on what was happening in the game.
Now that Alienware is fully integrated into Dell, the latest Alienware M17x laptop from Dell also supports their LightFX system. The problem with Sacred 2, is the game doesn't appear to be working properly with the keyboard lighting system, and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it in the game.

Sacred 2 PC gamers will have additional content available to them sometime "in the second half of 2009". The announcement promises a new character and new items for all existing characters. In addition to player content, two never-before-seen areas will be accompanied by new quests featuring original enemies.
So far, no price point nor release date has been revealed. While you wait, however, start a thread in the Co-Op Meetup forum! Despite a decent review right here at Co-Optimus and good impressions from Co-Opticast host Mike Katsufrakis, the game has not been given a whole lot of love from our PC community. If you're still on the fence about buying it, check out the screenshots below and keep your eyes open for special deals.

We reviewed Sacred 2: Fallen Angel once before here at Co-Optimus, back in December. Nick gave us his thoughts on the PC version of the game, which were quite positive. I'll not reinvent the wheel with this review of the Xbox 360 version, focusing mainly on the console specific features of the game.

Co-Optimus wouldn't be what it is without the intelligent and respectful operators that toil behind the scenes. Every successful community has its framework of passionate people. However, not often does a community -- with its diverse age groups and walks of life -- benefit from a crowd of supporters like ours.
We don't often have the opportunity to give front page facetime to forum posts except in the form of a news tip. Today, we're pleased to bring you the following collaborative (and ongoing) list of gameplay hints and helpful tips for playing an effective Sacred 2 co-op campaign...

We're only a week away from the console release of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. As the final tease, CDV has released a four player co-op trailer showing off some examples of the epic battles you and your friends can have in the game's co-op mode.
The video is chock full of goodies like character customization, mounts and vehicles, and more giant monster battles than Godzilla vs. Mothra.

I'll gladly pay you on Tuesday, for a Hamburger today.
Along with launching a brand new website for Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, CDV has released a handful of new screenshots for the Xbox 360 version of the game which will be released on May 12th.
There's no co-op to be add in the screens, but the console version of Sacred 2 will support drop-in/drop-out play for four players either online/locally or a combination of the two!
I'd like to see what would happen next in the screenshot with the two bears - is she casting a spell to give them salmon?

Sacred 2 released for PC late last year, and the much anticipated and twice delayed console versions are slated for release next month. (Finally!) Up to two couch co-op players can join two more friends online to make a dungeon crawling quartet. Sacred 2 reminds us of other action RPGs like Diablo and Titan Quest, and that is a good thing, for sure!
To help tide you over until May 12, check out the Achievement list for the game. Overall, they are pretty much what you would expect. Cheevy hoarders will be replaying the game often, it looks like, since playing as each class, plus finishing both the Shadow and Light campaigns, gives some decent gamerscore. But it's the co-op friendly achievements we are particularly interested in.
Group Hug 10 Any Hero fighting alongside 3 other heroes in multiplayer mode.
Hospitable 10 Host your first multiplayer game.
Hawker 10 You successfully traded with another user.
A full list of the achievements is available after the break.

Not to be left out after the Xbox 360 version got it's own video, the PlayStation 3 version of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is on display in the latest trailer of this co-op RPG.
Featuring some hard core rock music, the trailer shows off the cast of characters available and the customization players can do. It's a bit light on the action but you can get a good idea of just how gorgeous the PlayStation 3 version looks - Ascaron did a really good job on these console ports from the already great looking PC version.
Don't forget to check out our interview with CDV where we talk specifically about the co-op and the console versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.

As a couch co-op fan, I've been eagerly anticipating the Xbox 360 version of Sacred 2. Those who prefer their co-op online and on the PC have already been enjoying the action RPG goodness for several months now, and the experience looks to be getting even better.
A patch for Sacred 2, bringing the game up to version 2.40, is now available. Besides your typical bug fixes, several new elements have been added. Three new mini-bosses, each with their own quests, have been implemented. The eye candy has been upped as well, as nVidia's PhysX is now supported. Topping off the list of intriguing features are achievements!
The Sacred 2 patch is available here.
