Activision recently announced that there will be three new limited edition, holiday-themed Skylanders coming to Skylanders Trap Team. One is available now, for Valentine's Day, and the other two will be available in March for Easter.

Skylanders Trap Team is out in the wild and youngsters (and some oldsters) will be putting countless hours/dollars into the game already.  Some of the kids in the new trailer have perhaps played too much already as the game starts to talk to them Candid Camera style.

We've got two releases this week on opposing ends of the timeline. While one game was technically available yesterday, the other is out on Friday via Steam. So what's on tap?

By now the origins of the Skylander series are being lost in the mists of time, but before there was Skylanders Trap Team there was a plucky young dragon called Sypro who starred in his own adventures.  Now his doppelganger is one of many characters you can play as and the new trailer for the highlights why he is still awesome.

If you, or your kids, is a Skylanders fan, it's getting to be that time of year again. The time where you hand over your wallet and in return get the newest edition of Skylanders. The next Skylanders game is only two weeks away, but we're still getting new info on the latest title from developer Toys for Bob. Skylanders Trap Team is going to feature a brand new survival mode where players face off against waves of enemies called the Kaos Doom Challenge. 

All sizes of Skylanders characters will soon be playable in the next installment of the hit figurine video game franchise. Look out for this year's title, Skylanders Trap Team to play miniature versions of your favorite characters. Additionally, tablet users will be able to get the same Skylanders experience as the console versions this fall.

We've got a handful of Skylanders Trap Team goodies for you today including almost two dozen new screenshots and a fifteen minute level walk through to see some of the new game play features. And while it's great to see some more of the inventive game in action after our E3 impressions, we're also excited to here about the new elite figures coming.

I've got an entire bin on my shelf filled with Skylanders. I should probably display them proper, but I'd need an entire cabinet to do so. The genius that is the Sklyander series, that mixes real life "toys" with in game content should not be underestimated. It's something both adults and children can get behind - my five year old will attest to that.

Activision have announced the next game in the Skylanders franchise, following up the excellent Swap Force from last year. Skylanders Trap Team is tweaking the formula, adding a component for players to capture enemy villains and convert them to your team.
