The end cometh to us all

As of March 1st, Darkspore is no More

It seems strange to think that you can pick up a copy of a 400 year old book and still read it, or buy a DVD of a 1940s film and still watch it, but try playing an online game from 2011.  Increasingly elements of games that require servers are no longer easy to play and you can now add Darkspore to that list as the servers are being pulled on March 1st 2016.

Steam Mid-Week Sale: 40% off Darkspore

Steam sales are becoming more frequent, which is great for frugal gamers, but perhaps bad for their wallets.  The current mid-week deal is for Darkspore.  The action-RPG is 40% off during the sale, setting you back a mere $29.99.  We thought rather highly of the game, giving it a 4.5 score in our review.  If you like running around in outer space with up to three friends, killing stuff and collecting loot for your army of characters, it might be time to give Darkspore a chance.

Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 4.25.2011

The week following Easter can be rife with indulgence.  After giving up something dear to them for the 40 days of Lent, god-fearing people can feel free to get back into bad habits with a gusto.  I myself gave up going to church for Lent about 17 years ago.  It made me feel so righteous, I haven't been back since.  If Easter isn't your thing, that's fine too.  These new games are nondenominational.

Darkspore Beta Results In, Release Delayed To Address Issues

Remember when Beta meant that a game was being released to a select market to see what works and what doesn't? Darkspore on PC played the Beta release correctly and listened to the feedback of the Beta players in order to optimize the game upon release. Delaying Darkspore in all of its Spore-style action by a month to make fixes is a much better solution than pushing the game out and having to wait for patches in order to enjoy your purchase.
