Starlink Is Getting Lots Of New Content At The End Of April

Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Ubisoft's sci-fi action title, has been available on consoles since October of last year.  While it initially featured some optional toys-to-life elements, the developers recently confirmed that portion of the game is being discontinued.  Fortunately, though, that doesn't mean Starlink is done getting new content.  Not even close.

Digital ships and pilots will still be available

Physical Toys Are Done for Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Ubisoft posted a pretty honest and straightforward blog post last week about the state of their "build-your-own" spaceship shooter, Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The initial launch of the title was somewhat surprising as all of the "toys-to-life" games of the past few years have seen a steep decline, but Ubisoft seemed to account for that by offering the option to use physical or digital content in Starlink. It appears, though, that that still wasn't enough to help with the sales as Ubisoft stated they've "made the decision to not release any additional physical toys for the Spring update and in the future."

The secret Star Fox game fans have been waiting for?

[E3 2018] - Pilot An Arwing and Play As Fox McCloud In Starlink

Last year, Ubisoft revealed a surprising partnership with Nintendo that lead to Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Yesterday, they announced they're teaming up again for their forthcoming action toys-to-life title, Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The core conceit here is you pick a pilot, a frame, wings, and guns, and assemble your own ship to play in the game. If you pick it up on the Switch, you can do all that with Fox McCloud and his Arwing.
