As a quick note before going any further, the mod is entirely free to download (10 Gb in size, and unpacks to the 30 Gb mentioned above), but you do need to own the game in order to use it. The title can be purchased via Steam or GOG.com.

SoulWorker Releases Into Beta PhaseMatthew Squaire

Along with the game appearing to not be completely finished yet, the community has been very vocal that they have had a number of issues with the game crashing, so if you are planning on jumping in with up to three friends, it may be best to wait a bit and let the technical issues get ironed out first. In the meantime, you can watch the launch trailer that was quietly dropped alongside the game.

The title certainly draws inspiration from the Left 4 Dead games, but it adds to it different classes to play and character progression. We had a pretty good time when we played during one of the alpha sessions, and are looking forward to getting our hands on it some more.

The title supports two player local co-op or two player online co-op, with one player taking on the role of the Agent while the other is the Hacker. The goal is to infiltrate corporations and steal valuable intel that could bring them down. The hook here is that the Agent moves about and interacts with the physical world, while the Hacker can only influence things that are connected to the network. Thus, each player has a specific role to play and cooperation is definitely required. Locke and I played some of the title while it was still in beta last May and enjoyed our time with it overall!

There's a loose story in the DLC (someone stole some books from the Inn Keeper and you need to get them back) to spur the group of adventurers to a new location, but really, we're all here for the chance to put the pointy end of the sword into more Skaven. The new levels, Reikwald Forest and The River Reik, offer more outdoor/open terrain where you'll get swarmed from all sides, so be prepared for some epic "fighting back-to-back moments" with your co-op crew. The new Ceremonial Dagger for Sienna (the fire mage) will help with this as it can set enemies on fire.

I only ever played a little of the original Door Kickers, though I know both Nick and Locke really dug the top-down tactical action that it offered. Changing the format to a side-scrolling action platformer left both of them wondering how tactical it would be, and we were all pleasantly surprised by what KillHouse has done with this follow-up. Each level presents players with a set objective (e.g., rescue all hostages, clear all hostiles, or defuse a bomb), and the way you go about achieving said objective is entirely up to you and your co-op buddy. For example, two enemies standing below two skylights presents a great chance for you and your buddy to do a quick little countdown and drop down on the baddies simultaneously. You could also drop down on your own (assuming you're playing as the "Shield" class) to attract their attention/fire, while your buddy drops down a little after behind them and takes them out. The way you go about doing all of this is entirely up to you and elements of the game reminded us of titles like GunpointRonin, and Hotline: Miami.

The title first arrived on Steam in 2014 as part of the Steam Early Access program and, interestingly, is still listed as being in Early Access to this day. Despite that three year development time and a similar "Early Access" release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game never made it to a full release. Now, it seems, it never will.

There are a lot of different systems at play in Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr. In addition to the usual click and loot you find in many Diablo-style aRPGs, Martyr also has a crafting system, a way to generate your own mission using a special currency earned by completing daily quests, a "power level" that affects how easy or difficult a given mission may be, and an even larger concept of completing certain missions or taking certain actions will impact the overall field of play. The biggest problem, so far, is that pieces and components of those things are partially implemented, and none of them are linked up in a meaningful way that makes sense when you fist jump into the game. There's definitely some cool ideas and things going on in Martyr and we're looking forward to see how they develop, but for now, if you're interested in checking out, do know that it's in Alpha and there are some rough edges.

While there are single-player only campaign missions, the much grander Inquisitorial Campaign allows up to four players to team up to tackle a variety of missions. Within those missions, you'll be doing the usual clicking and looting that you find in Diablo and the like, but you'll also have specific objectives to complete. Some of those missions may even lead to new missions that are part of a "Grand Investigations." There's a lot of underlying mechanics at play here and I like the sound of it for a Warhammer 40,000 game, I'm just hoping that it all works out as intended.

If you're wondering just what a rhythm/RPG game even looks like, the answer is: very colorful, and hectic. Like any traditional RPG title, The Metronomicon features a cast of playable characters from which to choose as you form your party and go out into the world to battle foes, gather loot, and unlock new abilities. Once you get into combat, though, the rhythm game aspects take over and you'll have to tap along to the beat in order to beat enemies. It's a really unique look/take on RPGs, and the fact that two player local co-op is supported across all game modes makes it even more enticing.

Like most CCGs, Fable Fortune provides players with the opportunity to earn packs of cards through playing the game and then assembling those cards into a deck. The title features six heroes - Marshall the Knight, Miracle the Alchemist, Crimson the Shapeshifter, Barter the Merchant, Temple the Gravedigger, and Sand the Prophet - that each has his/her unique ability to use in combat. The hero also determines what types of cards you can use in your deck as there are "Alchemist" or "Merchant" specific cards in the game, along with "Neutral" cards that can be used by any hero. You can go head-to-head against another person, or team up with someone to take on a boss in the co-op mode. Check out the video below for a little more in-depth description of the gameplay.
