Seems like only last week we brought word that BetaDwarf's co-op arena game, FORCED, has a release date of October 24. That's just two weeks away! In anticipation of its release, the development team is holding a fun little competition of sorts this weekend that starts today at 12:00 PM EDT. All you have to do is download the demo, or purchase the game for just $14.99 and get the Early Access versuib, and you can start participating. It’s no joke that Halo 4 is probably one of the best game releases of this year, and for a very good reason: 343 Industries is keeping Halo 4 busy and constantly filled with new content. As soon as I saw the Razer Onza with the Mass Effect 3 branding, I knew I had to have it. The design of the Xbox 360 and PC controller is an instant stand out and even if you aren’t a fan of Mass Effect, the device is pure gadgetry sexiness. But what exactly is it? It’s a wired controller built for serious gamers who like to tweak and get the most out of their controller. There’s two big ways The Razer Onza Tournament Edition achieves this.

Registration is open for Halo: Reach players to participate in the two-day FLAG (Fight Like A Girl) tournament. Registration costs $10 per person, or $20 per four-player team, and the event takes place from Saturday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 24th. Co-op gamers are not left out - Firefight is featured as one of the four accepted modes.

We've had several email tips regarding how to add splitscreen to a couple of favorite co-op games, namely Unreal Tournament III, Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2. The console versions of these first-person shooters all supported splitscreen (even splitscreen online), but for some reason it was left out for the PC versions.

As you are reading this from a site that caters for co-operative games, it is easy to assume that you are a co-op fan. But as the genre continues to grow and expand, there's one question that keeps coming up - "Where does co-op stop and the solo experience begin?"

We've always said that playing co-op games online is a much different social experience, compared to typical multiplayer versus play.  Just hop into any versus game of Halo 3 and compare the chatter to that of a co-op game of Halo 3.  It's absolute night and day.  Perhaps the reason is John Gabriel's Internet Fuckwad Theory, or perhaps it's has to do with aggressive behavior trigger by the game type.

Epic has announced that Unreal Tournament 3 Black will be available for free this weekend on Steam.  Unreal Tournament 3 Black is the full version of UT3 along with the free Titan pack.  In total you have enhancements which include new maps and environments, the Titan mutator, the Greed and Betrayal gametypes, the Stealthbender vehicle, weapons, deployables, and characters.  The game also provides 50 Steamworks Achievements.
