Ugly Americans and Dead Rising 2 Half Off on Xbox Live This Week

Sales are a great time to give uglier games a chance. You know, games you weren't dying to buy at launch, but always kind of wanted to play.  With that in mind, now's a great time to try Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon. The Xbox Live Arcade version has just gone on sale for 400 MS Points (its first discount) as part of Microsoft's Shocktober promotion. Also on sale are a handful of other horror-themed games, including co-op zombie slaughterfest Dead Rising 2.

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon Launches Today

Ugly Americans is a cartoon series on Comedy Central about quirky, undead, and other unique individuals that become integrated into life in the Big Apple.  The show's characters are now part of a new game called Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon.  With characters like a wizard, a zombie, and a police officer - it seems ripe for some ridiculous looking action.  The game features all of the voice actors from the show, while the story is penned by the writers and the show's creator Devin Clark.

Comedy Central's "Ugly Americans" Coming to Consoles

Comedy Central's Ugly Americans is getting a video game treatment.  The animated series focuses on a social worker for the Department of Integration named Mark Lilly.  Set in New York City, the series focuses on Mark's interactions with NYC citizens, most of whom are some form of monster.  Mark narrates the episodes, which use thinly veiled metaphors and allegory to get the point across, something akin to Zach Braff's summation at the end of an episode of Scrubs.  I've actually seen a few shows and it doesn't totally suck.  It doesn't blow my skirt up, either, but I stopped wearing skirts after college.
