We're only a little more than a week out from Gears of War 2. The hype is in full effect for the co-op title from Epic Games, and we've reached a climax of sorts. For the past few months we've been posting video docs and behind the scene looks at the game, and now we have the game's final trailer.
The trailer plays out like that of one for an action movie; quick fast cuts, big explosions, plenty of gun fire, and of course the love interest dialogue. You'll get a peak out some of the new weapons, the new enemies, and the new heroes.
Gears of War 2 is set to be released on November 7th and features 2 player co-op through out the game's campaign, and 5 player co-op in Horde mode.

So, you picked up Gitar Hero World Tour, and had your buddies over for some co-op head banging action. Imagine your disappointment when a mere trifle of the game's 84 tracks are available from the get go. Worry no longer, folks, there's hope yet. A cheat code is available that allows all the songs to be selected. This code must be entered from the Options > Cheats > Enter Cheat menu:
Blue - Blue - Red - Green - Green - Blue - Blue - Yellow
I normally don't condone cheats, but I'd pretty much take any steps necessary to not have to play "On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson on drums again. "Guitar Hero", my big toe!

The Resistance 2 multiplayer beta is underway, and lucky for us - it has co-op! We dive head first into the game's 8 player co-op mode and give you the skinny on the Chimera slaying. We also have 3 minutes of exclusive video footage!
Yahoo Games is hosting an exclusive video for Gears of War 2. Some of you may remember the Mad World commercial from the first game; in the same sense that Gears 2 is a sequel, so is the "Last Day" commercial. While the ad is premiering on Yahoo, it will see a worldwide television launch starting November 2nd with Monday Night Football on ESPN. From there expect to see the commercial on FOX, FX, MTV, and the Sci-Fi Channel.
The video features the song “How it Ends” by indie rock band DeVotchKa. All the familiar faces from the previous game are featured, and it's easy to see how this game is focused on co-op play by the brotherhood shown between these characters.

Some good news out of the Sony camp today. One of the more requested features we've been seeing lately is to have split screen co-op play combined with online play. What does that mean? That means you and a friend could be playing split screen with other people online as well. Very few games seem to support this, Halo 3 being the biggest that comes to my mind.
Resistance 2 will support this type of play for its 8 player online co-op mode! The flexibility that a mode like this supplies is outstanding, so it's great to see a developer go the extra mile to get this done. Especially since it was a fan request! That being said it MAY not quite be there from Day 1, the game has gone gold and the feature was only recently completed. So expect a day 1 patch.

We Want War, Wake Up!
Those memorable words. The drum beat. The music. It's an iconic theme that's been with Red Alert titles since the beginning, and Red Alert 3 is no exception. The story remains the same, the Soviets have gone back in time to eliminate Einstein and alter the future, but the new game adds something new to the series. Something we all love, co-op!
With every missions designed from the ground up to support 2 player co-op, Red Alert 3 should prove to be a unique RTS experience. Red Alert 3 is set to come out for the Xbox 360 and PC in early November. Until then, enjoy the brand new Hell March trailer complete with Samurais with light sabers, Asian soldiers that come from underground, and of course flying flipping laser tanks.
I'll admit. I'm a man who craves immediate gratification. Upon seeing the latest Diablo 3 footage from Blizzcon of the recently announced Wizard class teaming up with the previously announced Barbarian; all I can say is....I WANT IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
There's almost 6 minutes of absolutely gorgeous gameplay here. The Wizard is shown off in all her glory with plenty of pretty spells that cast some gorgeous special effects. My personal favorite is the lightning attack, and don't even get me started on the awesome fog effects.
Seriously Blizzard, throw us a friggin bone here, give us a hint of when we can team up with 5 of our friends and take down the evil hordes of the underworld. In the meantime, we'll just have to live with the CT that is this video after the Read More link.

The Gears of War 2 hype (Cole)train has begun, and the first shot fired is in the form of real life COG tags. COG tags are hidden dog tags that are found throughout the world of Gears of War, but the promo pieces have a little gem attached to them - a code for a super secret website.
The folks at BreakingTheGame have shared their code for all. Simply hit up this link, click the little red COG tag at the bottom and enter this code: 617461-ZMTDP-EL
The site has a bit of everything; from concept art to wallpapers to other goodies. Looking closely at interface clues, I think there will be more content added as time goes on... so you might want to check back from time to time.
While the COG tags don't have much to do with cooperative gameplay, the following yours eyes only videos do. An undercover BlogSpot user going by the alias RandomGamer, managed to snag some gameplay footage of the 5 player co-op Horde mode in Gears of War 2 from E4 All this past weekend. He was lucky enough to upload the videos to GameTrailers before being lancered live on the show floor by Epic Game's Mark Rein.
