Let's hope Rorshach's mask moves!
We've got a nifty little update for you regarding LittleBIGPlanet, recently released in a Game of the Year edition. First of all, Sony is giving away free codes that allow you to download the Norse Mythology pack for the game. Should be fun to recreate "What's Opera, Doc?" in LittleBIGPlanet form. (What, I'm the only one who had that idea?)
If you'd rather pay for your Sackcontent, well, look no further than this Thursday. A Watchmen costume pack is coming to the PSN. No price is available yet, but we're hoping these little Watchmen goodies aren't as overpriced as other recent downloadable efforts. I predict about 4 hours before someone creates a Watchmen LBP level that's better than The End Is Nigh.

Rorschach's Journal, August 17, 2009.
The city lies black and misty below me. I hear a child's scream, cutting through the night like a tire tread through a dog's burst stomach. Found child in a sleazy apartment. Turns out wasn't a child, but a full grown man. Rocks back and forth, sucking thumb... obviously disturbed. I check for injuries. Looks at face, shrieks like a bat out of hell, and runs away.
Notice TV is on. On screen, I see myself, standing next to Daniel. Seems they've made a video game about us. Liberal media dragging me into their pitiful attempts to corrupt society. Still, intrigued by the concept. Pick up the controller. Feels odd in my hands. Must see if name has been marred by media agenda.

This week, the film version of Watchmen is released on DVD/Bluray. Along with the movie comes the second half of the tie in game, Watchmen: The End is Nigh. You'll recall that the first part was made available when the movie was released in theaters this past spring. The pricing and release date information have been made available, and it's so confusing that your brain just might turn into a mildly telepathic alien squid when you try to comprehend it.
Tomorrow, July 21, sees two releases. One is the Xbox 360 version of The End is Nigh, including parts 1 and 2, retailing for $30. The other is Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience. This package combines the Extended Director's Cut of the film with the PS3 version of parts 1 and 2 of the game. "Exclusive artwork in a premium package" is also promised, all for $50.
What if you already have part 1? You'll have to wait a bit for your Watchmen game fix. The End is Nigh part 2 releases July 29 for PC, July 30 for PSN, and all the way back on August 26 on Xbox Live Arcade. Part 2 will set you back $15. See? Told you your brain would mutate.

This just in from the "no duh" department: Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, Episode One was overpriced. Most gamers seemed to feel this way, but even director, Søren Lund of Deadline Games, agrees.
"I think it's a shame that Warner priced it at $20. It should've been max $15; ideally $10."
Considering that Episode One was fairly short, even for an episodic game, we tend to agree. The End Is Nigh Part Two is coming next month, and as of now, no pricing has been announced. Lund speculates that it will be released at $10, as it is about half the length of the first release. Half of an already short length? Sounds like Episode Two will be shorter than the film itself!
You'll recall our previous news about a retail disc with both Episodes being released for PS3 and Xbox 360. Pricing at Amazon suggests $30 for the 360 version, and $50 for the PS3 version, which includes the movie itself on Blu-ray. That bundle sounds like a good deal, until you consider that the Director's Cut Blu-ray, which includes another disc of special features, and a digital copy, costs $22. $30 for 6 hours of gaming? That puts Watchmen: The End Is Nigh at near-Terminator: Salvation levels of "value".

Wondering where part two of Watchmen: The End Is Nigh is? Wonder no more. Part Two of the game is headed to retail shelves, of all places. The Watchmen movie will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD in late July, and in at least one version, the movie will come packaged together with both parts of the game.
Watchmen: The End Is Nigh The Complete Experience is a mouthful, but is about as packed with extras as one could hope for. One Blu-Ray disc will contain the Director's Cut of the film, and the second will include Watchmen: The End Is Nigh Part One and Part Two. Obviously, this version of the game will only be available for the PS3. Xbox 360 owners can pick up a retail disc with both parts of the game, minus the movie itself. We've heard no word yet if Part Two will be available for download on its own, for those who may have picked up the first version when it was released in March.

Here at Co-Optimus, we try to keep you informed of the latest and greatest co-op gaming deals. This deal involves movie passes, not cheap games, but it's still worth your time.
Best Buy is running a Watchmen movie promotion. Purchasing Xbox Live products (from the link below) gets you the Watchmen Movie pack, pictured above, for free. The movie pack is in an Xbox game case, oddly enough, and includes two codes. One of the codes allows you to print out a coupon worth the price of two tickets to watch Watchmen at selected theaters. The other code allows you to download a 2 minute clip from the movie to your Xbox 360.
I was able to get the movie pack with a one month Gold card earlier this week. However, it looks like that deal may have been pulled. Your best bet now is a 1600 point card, for $19.99. Use the points to download Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, play it with a friend, watch a clip from the movie (it's a good one, trust me), and then go see the whole thing with said buddy. Sounds like a deal to me!

In case you've been living under a rock, there's this little comic book movie coming out this week: Watchmen. It just happens to be the greatest story ever told in comic book format, and the hype for the movie's release has been through the roof. The inevitable movie tie-in game bucks the usual trend, releasing on XBLA and PSN instead of retail. The first of a series of episodic content, Watchmen: The End Is Nigh will set you back $20. (Seems high to me! Who do they think we are, Ozymandias?)
Watchmen: The End Is Nigh will be available for Xbox 360 users Wednesday, and for Playstation 3 folks on Thursday. Get in touch with your inner disturbed vigilante or impotent, flabby birdwatcher in split-screen co-op!

Two player co-op brawler Watchmen: The End is Nigh hits PCs, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network next week. The game is touted as an old school beat em up set in the Watchmen universe. Various previews and interviews for the titles have shown the game's length to be somewhere in the neighborhood of about 2 hours.
The game's Steam Page has gone live and it shows a bit of an unexpected twist - a $20 price tag for the game. What you say? That's right, the game is going to cost you just as much - if not more - in the entertainment hour to dollar ratio as the movie.
There's no official word if this is going to be the price for the console version, afterall Bionic Commando was much less on the consoles than the PC. Still I think someone got a little to close to the crack pipe on this one.

The Watchmen movie is set to hit theaters on March 6th of this year. Regarded as one of the greatest graphic novels of all time, it's something a lot of people are really looking forward to. The Watchmen: The End is Nigh is a two player co-op beat em up from Warner Bros Interactive, which is set to be released right before the movie on March 4th. You'll be able to obtain this two to three hour title from Xbox Live, PlayStation Network or on the PC via Direct2Drive or Steam.
In our recent Co-Op Beat Em' Up Retrospective, we talked in depth about how this genre seemed to be all but dead - but thanks to a few recent announcements we may have been proven wrong. Joystiq has some impressions of the title, one in which you play as either Rorscach or Nite Owl. They decided that game has a particular old schoo flavor to it, but that it actually seemed to fall short in some respects.

The Watchmen: The End is Nigh is an upcoming co-op brawler for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Like any good brawler, the game features two player split-screen co-op play! If you didn't know, the Watchmen movie is set to hit theaters this March and this episodic game is set to release shortly there after.
This game is actually a prequel to the Watchmen story which in alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are not only real but have ultimately been outlawed – one former hero goes looking for the truth behind the murder of one of his own, but uncovers a devastating conspiracy to drag the world implacably closer to its own end.
Warnerbros has released a handful of screenshots showing off the in game characters Rorschach and Nite Owl II. I do love my beat em ups, so hopefully this one doesn't disappoint.
