Somewhere in the middle of mythical Sweden, Arrowhead Game Studios is working on something so profound, so cooperative, so...Action/RPG you'll wet your pants. That something, is Magicka - an online/offline 4 player co-op Action/RPG set for a 2010 release on Xbox LIVE Arcade and other digital distribution. Co-optimus.com has the not-so-exclusive run-down of what to expect with Magicka, as well as a trailer featuring self-aware humor, and screen shots to make your mouth water.

Ion Assault can be described as a very unique and beautiful take on the classic Asteroids arcade games. Movement and visuals are updated, as is the variety of obstacles you'll encounter. Although relatively short, Ion Assault features 2-player co-op support throughout the campaign, plus a 4-player competitive mode. How does it add up? We explore deep space for the review.

Co-Op zombie killing is all the rage these days. But what if we combined the great new formula with classic style top down gameplay? Enter Zombie Apocalypse from developer Nihilistic. We take the four player co-op game for a spin in our latest review.
You remember Joy Ride, right? The free co-op game coming to the Xbox Live Arcade? Well, Microsoft has announced that the game will feature content that can be unlocked when a cumulative goal is reached by the entire community. This is not all that dissimilar to what DICE did with Battlefield 1943's Coral Sea Challenge. Exactly what content that entails is still a mystery, but we like the prospects.
Also learned is that you will be able to customize your car via coins collected in-game or with Microsoft Points (*wince*). So far, the game doesn't have a hard release time frame other than "holiday 2009", but we're looking forward to racing our Avatars through the Looney Tunes mesa as soon as possible!

Independent developer ACE Team Software has announced that their PC game Zeno Clash will be finding its way to the Xbox Live Arcade sometime next year.
Zeno Clash is a hybrid FPS/Fighting game sent in a beautiful fantasy world. While the original game was single player, the XBLA version will be an enhanced edition that includes a co-op challenge mode called Tower Challenge. The game will also add other various improvements based on fan feedback from the PC version which has been available since last Spring.
There's no word on the number of players or whether or not its local, online or both in co-op.

Last week we thought we had two co-op games on the Xbox Live Arcade, when in fact there was only one. This week we're pretty confident that we have three co-op titles making their way to the Xbox 360. That more than makes up for it in our book.
We already told you about the four player co-op zombie slaughterfest, Zombie Apocalypse, over the weekend. But two new ones have popped up making this a very busy week for co-op gamers on the 360 - especially considering ODST hits as well!

A rather interesting article has just popped up at Suite101.com. It details ten good co-op games to be had on Xbox Live Arcade for $10 or less. One of the titles, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge, does NOT feature co-op, as we verified last week. However, the rest of the list is accurate. It's particularly nice to see some indie games on the list. There's some great fun to be had on the cheap!

Konami announced yesterday that their 4 player co-op shooter that's "Smash TV meets Left 4 Dead" will be released on the Xbox LIVE Arcade and Playstation Network next Wednesday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Sept. 24, respectively. The twin stick shooter that puts you and your friends in the middle of 55 days-worth (read levels) of zombie attacks will retail for 800 MS points and $9.99 on the PSN. Personally, I'm looking forward to slaying a few more zombies before Left 4 Dead 2 arrives, and the idea of luring zombies into a wood chipper, as highlighted in the Playstation Blog's interview with John Slavin, sounds too fun to pass up. A copy of the release announcement, as well as a gallery of screenshots from the game, can be found after the break.

After almost 4 months of waiting, PlayStation owners will finally get their hands on the three player co-op title Trine. Developed by FrozenByte Software, the game is a physics based puzzle/platformer that puts players in the role of the Wizard, Thief, or Knight. We really enjoyed the PC game, and have high expectations for the PSN version - we just wish the extra time was used to add online co-op. Sadly, it's still missing. Last we heard the game is priced at $20.

Yesterday we reported that today's XBLA release of Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge would be a 2 player co-op experience. Sadly, today we can confirm the game does not contain a co-op mode.
An Electronic Arts representative has told us the Xbox.com Game Page contains an error, and there's no offline or online co-op in the game. I guess that's why it's not called Red Alert 3: Commanders' Challenge.
