'Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story' Flies Onto Consoles and PC on April 13

The long-awaited 4-player shoot 'em up is almost here.

We recently covered HEXAPODA, an insect-themed shoot 'em up with 4 player support that's coming "soon." Well, Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story will probably be beating that game to punch. First announced in June 2022, Dogfight is a horizontally-scrolling shooter with a sausage theme, plenty of color, 4-player local co-op. It's due out on all platforms on April 13.

Dogfight takes place in the same world as that of developer Katsu Entertainment's previous mobile game, Sausage Bomber. Years have passed since the Sausage War, and the world has enjoyed a period of prosperity. That peace ends when the evil Russ, I mean Vega Nation launches an attack on the free nations of the world. Under the command of General Haggis, four heroic pilots must fly against the would-be conquerors. It's a silly story with lots of food puns.

The game itself is a colorful and cartoony side-scrolling shooter. Players can choose from four difficulty levels and even adjust the maximum speed of the game. When the heroes shoot down bad guys, the game gets faster, and it slows down if the good guys take a hit. Besides selecting characters, players can equip two different weapons from an arsenal of 24 unlockable guns and bombs. Dogfight is very approachable and easy to play, but things can get extremely hectic at with multiple players and higher difficulty and speed settings!

Features:

4-player drop-in / drop-out cooperative play.

Battle across nine distinct environments, each with its own enemy types.

Play as different pilots with unique planes and abilities.

Over 250 weapon combinations to choose.

Hand-drawn sprites and painted backgrounds.

Epic battles with over-the-top mega bosses.

Built-in speedrun support.

Original soundtrack by composer Dale North (Wizard of Legend, RWBY: Arrowfell, Dreamscaper).

Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story will cost $17.99 when it arrives on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch, Steam, and Epic on Thursday, April 13. If you can't wait, grab the free demo on Steam right now.
