SWORN Version 1.2 Update Adds Boss Rush Mode, New Achievements, and More

Players can now take on all the bosses in a row in this medieval-themed roguelike.

King Arthur is known to be a valiant warrior, so defeating him won't be easy. It will be especially tough in SWORN, a Hades-style roguelike in which Arthur and his knights have been corrupted into monsters. Suppose that a player was brave enough to fight all of those once-gallant knights all in a row. Why, that is now possible thanks to the game's recent Version 1.2 update. It adds a Boss Rush mode, new cosmetics, an enemy Corruption system, and more.

Highlights of the Version 1.2 update:

Boss Rush Mode:

Four new Achievements/Trophies

Boss Rush takes place in a single-room, arena-style encounter set within Camelot.

Bosses have been reworked to fit the Camelot setting:

They now spawn Camelot enemies instead of creatures from their original biomes.

Visual effects have been updated to reflect their corruption.

New Character Cosmetics: Cosmetic rewards for defeating Dragon Arthur are now complete and available to unlock.

Enemy Difficulty Modifiers:

On higher difficulties, Corrupted enemies have a chance to spawn, dropping bonus rewards.

Corrupted enemy attacks are now fully implemented, featuring updated animations and VFX.

The Corruption system has been reworked to increase run variety and introduce more interesting choices while helping offset the added difficulty from Corrupted enemies.

Each door now has a chance to become corrupted, offering:

A range of possible corruption effects

Increased reward potential

Codex Updates:

The Codex now includes a Wishlist feature:

Players can mark blessings directly in the Codex.

Wishlisted blessings are highlighted in the Blessing Selection Menu, making it easier to track and acquire specific blessings for quests or unlocks.

The Boss Rush is found in Camelot, the fourth area of the game. You can't just access it from the main menu. Visit Steam for the full update notes.

One advantage that SWORN has over Hades is co-op. The Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam versions support 4-player online co-op. The Switch version supports 2-player co-op. Co-op mechanics include the ability to revive teammates (for a gold or health penalty) and certain Fae blessings that buff the entire team. The game is a lot of fun with friends. See our co-op review for all the details!

SWORN costs $29.99 on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, and $24.99 on Switch and Steam. The Steam version is fully Steam Deck-compatible. The Xbox version is currently available on Game Pass Premium and Ultimate, so be sure to check it out.
