Beyond Co-Op, November 15th to November 21st

The stories for this week:

- BioShock 2 Special Edition Announced
- "Return to Ostagar" DLC Coming to Dragon Age: Origins This Holiday
- Halo: Reach Premiering on Spike's Video Game Awards on December 12th
- Modern Warfare 2 Earns $550 Million in First Five Days
- Happy Thanksgiving to US Readers and Black Friday Deals

BioShock 2 Special Edition Announced

No big surprise here since the SE of the original sold so well. Included in the package for $99 (360/PS3) or $89 (PC): Bioshock 2 game, 3 Rapture posters, 164-page hardbound artbook, BioShock 2 orchestral score on CD and BioShock 1 orchestral score on vinyl 180g LP. Sounds pretty nice, but no Big Sister figure? Bioshock 2 releases on February 9, 2010

”Return to Ostagar" DLC Coming to Dragon Age: Origins This Holiday”

I haven’t gotten a chance to play Dragon Age: Origins as of yet, but I do plan to in the next month. Been too busy playing three other games for review at our sister site Colony of Gamers (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time Review and Assassin’s Creed II Review) to partake in this supposed 30 plus hour game. Well, the game is getting another DLC before the end of the year for $5 or 400 Microsoft Points. Seems like a nice price, although we have no clue how big it is or anything.

Halo: Reach Premiering on Spike's Video Game Awards on December 12th

Not a huge surprise here either since the VGAs could always use some more people watching it. The premier of Halo: Reach will be shown on December 12 on Spike’s VGA show. Chances are good it will be up on Gametrailers or somewhere else not long after, so you really don’t have to watch the show if you don’t want to. They also announced the nominees this week and so far they are at least looking good, I didn’t see any weird ones that popped up like in year’s past where people didn’t even have the game yet when it was nominated.

Modern Warfare 2 Earns $550 Million in First Five Days

This is an internal Activision number, but they believe they sold $550 million with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in the first five days. Pretty impressive and should help the bottom line with the poor sales of DJ Hero and quite possibly Tony Hawk: RIDE after the bad reviews that have come out and word of no early copies being sent out to companies.

Happy Thanksgiving to US Readers and Black Friday Deals

It’s that time again where people in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving and then we celebrate the crazy Black Friday the day after. There are some good deals going on, but I don’t know if you want to sit outside Best Buy or Wal-Mart in order to get them. Both have a PS3 bundle deal for the regular $299 price. Best Buy includes Little Big Planet and Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, the new game, in the bundle. Wal-Mart has inFAMOUS (a great game), Batman: Arkham Asylum (another great game) and the Dark Knight Blu-Ray movie for the $299 price tag. Both are very good, although you do arguably get better games in the Wal-Mart deal.

Game sales are going on as well, such as EA Sports games and Left 4 Dead 2 for $34.99 at Best Buy. Dragon Age, Brutal Legend, Left 4 Dead 2, Dirt 2 and Halo 3: ODST are all $39.99 at K-Mart. Gamestop has Borderlands for $50 and Left 4 Dead 2 for $40 among others. You can lookup all the deals at BlackFriday.info.
