Hacked Bobbleheads Roaming the Borderlands

It appears that something wicked walks the Borderlands, and evil comes in the form of... hacked bobble heads!  Modded bobble heads full of cash are hacking players' shields and weapons, giving them an unfair advantage compared to legit players.  Worst of all, it can happen unknowingly to the innocent, as related by longtime Co-Optimus user Shazoo in our forums...

So my first experience was about a week ago with a random who had insanely powerful non-stop firing weapons and an almost unlimited health supply. And then talking to my friend about the experience, he told me that he was in a game with a XBL friend of his who was playing in his game and dropped him some "bobble head cash" for a weapon purchase, and he, not thinking anything of it, picks up the bobble head cash and see's his shield hit 50,000. He asked his friend what happened, and he said he gave him a shield boost, except supposedly it's permanent. So be wary of who you play with, and what you pick up when playing with others in Borderlands.

Want to see the hack in action?  Check out these two videos.  Thankfully, there is a way to get rid of the hacked items for those who don't want to ruin their experience.  From the Gearbox forums (via Dr0kz):

Here is a temporary solution to get rid of the infinite shield and money you obtained by playing with a modder.

***NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS ON XBOX LIVE OR YOU WILL SPREAD THE VIRUS. ONLY DO THIS IN SINGLE PLAYER***

To get rid of the shield and health:
1. Drop all items
2. Unequip and drop all items other than the ultra shields
[Make sure you are in a confined corner w/ no enemies to do this so you can easily find all of your weapons]
3. Unequip the ultra shield until your inventory is full. If you just drop them from the equipped slot it will do nothing.
4. Drop all shields.
5. Exit menu to prevent lag. Remember, $31,039 bobbleheads will be sprayed out.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 until all shields are gone.

Hopefully this will help our readers as they traverse the Borderlands.  Hopefully a patch will fix these hacks soon.  Anyone else having these issues?
