Borderlands 2's Final DLC Out Now

So long for now, Pandora.

Well everybody, it's been a crazy run. The adventures of the second string of Vault Hunters has finally come to a close, as the final piece of DLC for Borderlands 2, "Sir Hammerlock Versus the Son of Crawmerax" is out now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Just a reminder, this game came out in September of 2012.

The fifth of the "Headhunter Packs," this last DLC comes in at $2.99 and features the titular British-accented beast hunter, Sir Hammerlock, as he and the Vault Hunters take a trip on down to Wam Bam Island for some R&R. Not all is peaceful on the island, as Crawmerax Jr, the son the enormous, angry crab from the first game, nabs the noble cyborg after seeking vengeance on the original Vault Hunters.

I guess it's time we close the book on this whole Borderlands 2 deal. With 4 story based DLCs, 5 "Headhunter Packs," the Vault Hunter Upgrade packs, and two additional characters, Gearbox pumped out the content for anybody who needed another excuse to hop back into Pandora.

I'm glad a game this good received so much support post launch. The DLC has proven itself to be engaging and funny, and you were never obligated to throw down a couple of bucks to continue the adventure. This is DLC as it should be: the final game delivered in a complete package, with side stories for anyone interested in diving back in.

Gearbox is focusing some of its efforts on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel now, so you'll still have something to look forward to if you're weeping bitter tears at the finale of Borderlands 2.

And yes. I am giving you permission to cry.
